Same here. Noticed that diablo just shut down randomly without reason, and the it just won't start. Stuck at diablo face on desktop, and just retrying to run it. I dont think its hardware related, i just bought OCZ Vertex 4 today, and copied everything to this disc, and of course win 7 is loading faster, but still diablo loading time is long, and randomness when its successful makes it definetly useless for me. And yes - cache files aren't linked, each vm has its own copy locally. Going back to diablo inside each vm scenario :(

      Awesome guide shaliuno.

Thought id quickly share my experience in getting the vm's to run reliably.

I noticed when i had set up one vm with 1.6 gb that it often crashes 5-6 times a night, while the machine with 1.8gb usually only crashed 1-2 times a night. I increased the ram to 2gb and now they both very rarely ever crash and the restarts they have are probably more likely to be disconnects. I did try and run the registry file you had to stop the programs from automatically shutting, but didnt seem to help.

Also i was experiencing some problems with my graphics card crashing for a while, setting the maximum resolution in the vm to 1920x1080 while setting the resolution in the guest vmware to something small like 1280x800 seems to have fixed it or at least reduced the frequency of which it occurs.

      Regards
      Jarrod

      Need some advice:

      I got 128GB Samsung 830 S

1VM got 30GB and is the source of everything..

clone VM each got 2GB RAM 2CPU and has 30HDD but is only getting 2gb-6gb

      now the problem is..

from time to time... it crashes...

I have around 16 VMs created (1root VM and 15 clone of the root VM)

I started deleting some clone VM and the CRASH time gap is increasing...

for example: When I deleted 2 CLONE VM the last 2 VM15 and VM16

the crash time from being every 15minutes goes up to every 30minutes or more...

I deleted another 2 VMs the VM13 and VM14... now the pc can last up to 1-3hours before it crash..

It seems like cloning is not a good idea? or I am doing something wrong?

The cloning method I used - completely just a link to the root VM...

basically each clone VM is only generating 2GB per clone VM... and it uses the files/windows/d3/db from the VM1

      SOME FACTS:

The TEMPS are OK... below 45c on cpu/mem/nb
THE CPU LOAD IS BELOW 60%
THE MEMORY LOAD IS BELOW 80%

fckwarden try increasing the ram on each VM to 2.2 and run less VM's to ensure your host computer is not running out of ram either. That should reduce your crashes to zero. Then slowly add in more vms and decrease the vm ram size until you find the balance.

I installed itunes lastnight on one of my vms to run the internet off a mobile phone, woke up and it had crashed 16 times in 14 hours, increased the ram from 2gb to 2.1gb and it hasnt crashed since. Also i find when im very close to using all the ram on the host pc my vm's also start crashing.

      Hi guys.

I really would like to get some VMwares up and running on my PC. A problem occurs when I set a path between VMhost & VMguest.

I wouldn't mind paying some $ if you can fix it for me over TV.

The attached file is the BAT file, any ideas?

      Thanks.

I am reading about people with 9-11 bots per machine and I am amazed. I have 3(!) VMs with ticks per seconds dumbed down to 6 (from 10) and I still get 99% CPU load. i5-3570k, 16gb ddr3, radeon 7870 (or 8780 I don't remember, but the last generation it is.), SSD hard drive. I must be doing something wrong, but I can't for the live of me figure out what. =(

guys, I actually just farm with 1 acc in one laptop (a kind of good laptop, alienware i7, 12gbddr3, 128ssd, 500sata2, radeon 7970 2gbddr5).

I would like to try this tutorial cuz I got 3 d3 account with the chars already in lvl 60 (some friends gave me their accounts, the deal was I will gear that char and everything else will be mine (items and gold).
So, do you guys think this will be a problem? Cuz I am really afraid about run more than one d3 in the same pc (because last banwave just hited who was doing multiplebot).

what you guys can tell me about this? Go straight because it's realiable or don't do it if you don't want to get more attention from blizz!?

      Thank you very much.

Please help am IT challenged me to figure out what's wrong. After much messing around and re-reading the guide I've managed to set up a VM as per this guide. I am only running 1 VM on this computer (to run a bot, since I don't want to run a bot off the same HW ID as my main acc plays on). As far as I understood the guide, I complied with pretty much every step. The VM is working and D3 works on it too (linked to my main D3 folder on C:\). However I am having major issues with lags when I play on the VM version of D3. I tried to launch the bot today for the first time and its a complete slideshow. Also, when I try to play D3 on the Host, while D3 is running on VM, my host D3 takes forever to load and entering/leaving games take about 40 secs. Whats going on? I have a less then a year old PC with intel i2500 processor and 8Gb ram. I've dedicated 6gb space and 3gb ram to the VM, so it should have more then enough power, yet it lags worse then my other 9y.o. PC.

Please help, I've gotten this far, but now I got no idea what to do next.

I've also noticed that during these ghastly lags, the ping often spikes badly. Going from the usual mid 2xx to well over 600 or even 900. So maybe it's something to do with how VM connect to the internet? There must be something interfering, because playing on the host is flawless on max settings.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

      Guyz, tell me one thing.

I would like to run 3 vms with unique ip's (I will use paid-"XROXY").
So in this scene, I already created 3 vm's, installed win7 manually on them and I will install d3 (from bnet account installer).

Should I do something else to prevent do be banhammered?

I am asking because last time I did one vm to farm I was banned in both account (d3 in the laptop and vm) but I wasn't using "XROXY".
Also which company u guys are used to rent private "XROXYs"?

I know everyone knows that bot is the way to get banned, but did I miss something to hide in my vm's?

      Thank you very much.

I was running 3 D3's on my comp, 1 in normal windows, and 2 in seperate VM's. I wanted to run more but there was to much lag on that PC.

Well.. I just upgrade to a whole new computer and am unable to run multiple VM's, they lag really bad. So for now i was just going to run 1 VM and normal windows, but my VM freezes after about 10+ minutes. My new PC is I7 3770k, 16gb Ram, SSD, GTX660.. it should be able to run this stuff fine. I am running D3 + WoW + DB/HB though. Any idea why it freezes so much? I've set the Ram for the VM to 2gb, 2.5gb, 3gb, and 3.5gb with no differences. the VM is running on the Win7 link from the first page, along with all the settings. I wanted to run at least 3 VM's with D3/WoW in each, but I am unable to even have 1 stable currently. ]:

Sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing. The HW should be enough to run at least 5 vm's, but even 1 lags unbelievably :( Something's not right. Btw, what I haven't mentioned before, is that my DB is in the z: drive directly, rather then linked, like in the guide. Could that be an issue?

Anyone have experience with VM botting on a server without a GPU? Thinking about renting a server to move my bots to, so that I can use my home PC for other stuff and I am really hard pressed to find anyone who leases servers with GPU. Most of the time - no GPU. So is it necessary to have GPU for VM Diablo3 or?

adding back to this thread, I've figured out how to run each vm on only 1 gb of ram. use win 7 32 bit, and allocate 1 gb paging file.

yes you need a GPU or vmware will not run

How do y'all work around the "This windows copy is not genuine" for the VMs? Just ignore all that?
