I can honestly say that I am excited to donate to this project. From that screenshot above and the brewmaster features you're planning on including, I will be jumping at the chance to give some well deserved funds. Keep up the good work and once you've finished with this monk CC, I would definitely give some thought to trying your hand at an all-in-one to include this CC with others you create. With the skill shown just in this CC, alone, I would be very excited to see one that had more capability for other classes.

I contacted TuanHA in skype to get into test the new mistweaver thing hes working on.

I did the Siege of Niuzao Temple on heroic with LazyRaider + the CC. It went really smooth, but I did have a few suggestions. After these small changes, I did 2 battlegrounds, EOTS and the orb of power one. Topped EOTS on healing by 1 million to the next and was second on the orb thing.

I also did a run of Scholomance which went much smoother than the previous heroic run.

All in all, its looking really great already at this stage.

 

doesnt use chi wave and leg sweep. i turned all checkboxes on in cc-config.

Hey guys! There's currently no donation button because part of these forum rules is that you are not aloud to sell a product. This is due to staff not wanting to have to support any issues that can come from the selling of products (scamming etc). Mistweaver was only just released into a Beta, and there is a handful of people helping Tuanha tweak it to a point where he feels confident you will all be pleased with it ! Donations go a long way for developers and I'm sure he really appreciates the thought.

When Tuanha feels that the CC is at a point where its running somewhat stable, and only minor tweaks will be needed, more information about Donations and the Advanced class's will be made public for those interested. You need to understand that the Donor versions can not, and will not be supported here due to the same forum rules mentioned above! Please keep all discussion here, specific to the version supported here! I am happy to answer any questions you may have via PM!

 

um...you can still donate on the forums, even some of the honorbuddy devs have donation buttons...you just cant reserve stuff only for donation "on the forums"

 

Thats a little bit of the issue. A lot of people who donate will think they "Deserve" certain benefits which is why its best to keep donations off-site. The Beta was given to people who Donated while there was no intention of a Mistweaver class, i feel like some people will be unhappy if they do not receive access to the Beta after donating. As i said i will gladly answer any questions via PM.

 

If you donate to a charity...do you expect the charity to give you something in return?

I think you're both confusing a donation for a purchase. Whether the first post says "donate" or "buy" doesn't really matter. Tuanha is offering a product with a free version and a full version that you can only gain access to by buying it. It's not a donation at all and I think it'd give a much better image if people didn't try to hide that fact and disguise it as a donation.

However, it's a great CC and I'm sure lots of people will be willing to buy it. He could easily say that the purchased version comes "as-is" and any updates/fixes are in his discretion.

 

Yes, Code made a post where he says he looks at donations as a purchase, which is why there is no donation button in this thread. The last thing we want is for admins/mods to be concerned with this thread .

 

I think a good description of how Tuanha would like to do this is like this:

On the iPhone, you can usually get games that are free and do not require you to pay to play. However, for those that wish to donate, they get in game currency/items/goodies. It's really the same with any f2p model that is currently out there right now. Lotro, Aion, Dragon Nest, etc. All those games give you goodies for donating. Christ, even newgrounds.com or kongregate.com allow you to donate to the developers of individual flash games and you get extras in the games that can make it better than those who choose to not donate.

Tuanha is perfectly within his right to call it a donation since he isn't requiring a payment to use. He is simply saying that, as a thanks for giving the donation, you get something special. While you can donate to a charity and not expect anything in return, they usually do give you something to show appreciation such as a gift voucher to a restaurant or something dinky like that. Let's just be happy that those who wish to donate to Tuanha actually get to enjoy something extra. To be honest, I would've donated regardless of the extra benefits or not. Good work deserves to be praised in this world. From one software programmer to another, I know exactly what kind of hardships he goes through when programming this for people.

 

I'm a developer myself and I'm not at all questioning his request for payment for additional features. I don't agree with the word "donation" but it's not my project and he can call it whatever he wants. He is requiring a payment to use the full version though, you can't really dispute that. If it was up to the users how much they donated for those extra features then yes, it would be a donation with a "thanks". It's about time the dev team introduced a 'thank you' for developers who help keep their product running...but that's another story.

Anyway, I'll probably be buying the full version even though I won't really be using the bot in an environment where the extra features are needed. His CC really helped me while levelling my monk and that's enough for me.

 

I am confused, though. What do you mean you have to buy to get the full version? Technically, you are getting the full version for free. You get all 3 specs. I don't think it's been advertised any other way. Since it was his creation, he can say the full version was only Brewmaster and Windwalker and Mistweaver are added bonuses he decided to throw in. Or he could end up saying Brewmaster wasn't really his intention and he only wanted this to be a dps Windwalker cc. What you may think is not a full version may just be your opinion.

What if FPSware decided to make a hunter cc that supported survival only? Then, later on, he decided that if he received enough donations, he would spend his free time on adding a beastmaster and marksmanship spec to that cc. The only thing is, you have to have donated to get access to those other two specs. If he only advertised it as a survival hunter cc, is it the full version, or is it incomplete due to the fact that he made 2 other specs for people who gave donations?

I consider all implemented features of software to be a "full version". You'll find a lot of sites agree. Either way, it's not worth disputing now ^^
