Before you read anything else, please notice that I am NOT saying that all botters are being banned.

Please consider the following and tell me what you think:

      1. There has been an increase in bans on our forum lately
      2. Almost all of them stated that their ban notice included something about the online economy
      3. The retail price of gold has increased 4 times what it was about a week ago (from .55 cents per 1000g to $2.50 per 1000g)

I think it explains the recent jump in bans reported on this forum. Blizzard SEEMS to be focusing on banning players that are (or have been) involved in buying and selling gold. That doesn't mean they actually caught everyone involved, but they SEEM to have saved up a list of accounts involved in "abuse of economy" and banned or suspended them all at once.

If that information does not interest you, then you can just move along and find someone that actually cares about your apathy. If you don't care, that's fine with me.

The retail price for gold has quadrupled within the last week! Explain that.

Hmm I thought they did ban players that used to grind their toons to 90 without doing any questing. That was a pattern that many of the banned users had.
Especially now that some Questing profiles are public the timing is great to ban the grinders...

Did you guys noticed a increased trade-in price with your gold buyers already? Smells like a good cash-out opportunity right now. ;-)

Niv, this is exactly what I was trying to say in my other thread (A nice day to sell gold)! If you have been saving up gold to sell all at once with the idea of possibly losing accounts but making it worthwhile to start over if the price was right, then this is the time. The price is right.

On the other hand, for those wondering WTF just happened to me? or ...why did I get banned? Well, it was probably part of Blizzard's recent focus on the "abuse of economy"

im kind of surprised haven't seen a huge banwave yet. I did a few bgs manually yesterday and on our side 8/10 were clearly botting, and in the rest of em, it was at least half being bots, then you look in the ah, and over a 3 day span the herbs went from 200g/stack and 100g/stack to 70 and 30, with several sets of 200 stacks of herbs, just allot of people not being careful at all, this seems to be the trend on the 4 servers i play on.

is the US price 2.5 per k or EU? Im new at botting, but i think that Blizzard is collecting over months. Its like in the Electronic Sports League versus Cheaters. There are also every months a ban "wave" and the kids are happy about it. In real case the ban rate is extrem low and they collect them to show up "efficiency". Also in case of Blizzard there are interest in that people pay antoher month to get $$$$

What realm and buyer, if not private?
On my realm, best chinese price is about 0.6. And even private buyers wont give more than 0.8.

I would also like to point out that the increase in players also results in an increase of bot reports. Not to mention all the dumb botters who were afk botting in high risk areas before and getting away with it aren't so lucky anymore seeing as every zone is crowded. Especially since everyone has to grind dailies to be competitive for raiding.

However the increase of botters being banned would definite inflate the price of gold, but not just the ban waves but the increase in buyers. Everything purple is selling for tens of thousands of gold, lots of people breaking out their credit cards for that.

How to troll on botting forum 101:

1: Tell those botters someone is buying from you for 3x the normal price
      2: profit :D

Seriously, why would someone buy for this much, when chinese are selling for 1.4?
