Hey guys, how can we update the patch? I tried running launcher from VM Host but it says error. Should I update by clicking the launcher in Z drive within the guest?

yeh you need to change some files on the guest:
remove the old diablo map on guest then do your bat file again as in the first post, but edit it in the end (change your drive letters):

      mklink "C:\Client 01\icudt49.dll" "Z:\Diablo III\icudt49.dll"
      mklink "C:\Client 01\icuin49.dll" "Z:\Diablo III\icuin49.dll"
      mklink "C:\Client 01\icuuc49.dll" "Z:\Diablo III\icuuc49.dll"
      mklink "C:\Client 01\msvcp100.dll" "Z:\Diablo III\msvcp100.dll"
      mklink "C:\Client 01\msvcr100.dll" "Z:\Diablo III\msvcr100.dll"

because the old files are ending with 44 and 90

why there is a file patch-base-12480.mpq?
      C:\Diablo III\Data_D3\PC\MPQs\Cache\base
it is greater than 1 GB, I had no place to VMvare (((
      up
to host this file at all 3.97 GB
yet there is a file patch-base-12480.mpq.writeCacheBackup (on the host it is not)

      I'v noticed this too.

I'v deleted the cache dir from host, then start d3 in host, the cache dir will regened with a way liter mpqs.

Then I relink it from VMWare client, but this does not fixing the whold problem, due to the cache dir will increasing overtime.

I had to re-install my WMs today and now Diablo III doesn't start.
The Diablo III head shows & disappears as usual but then nothing happens. The process keeps running but no Diablo 3 shows up, any suggestions?

btw, just running different desktop & no setup as in this guide.

      hi,

i have just started botting yestoday, the VM worked, but D3 ran very slow. the game freezes for 0~2 seconds with very high frequency, especially while killing monsters.

      i have i5 750@3.6g,12g mem and 3g for WM, WDblack raid0.
only diablo3, demonbuddy and v p n installed in WM.

anyone has ideas to fix it??

Are you running D3 with elevated priority ? If not, it could fix it

      You can set it in the shortcut: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start /abovenormal "" "C:\Diablo III\Diablo III.exe" -launch

I would like to start off by thanking shaliuno for this great guide. I have now installed VM Workstation 9.0 on my fresh W7 64x with 12gb Ram, i7 920 (2.66ghz /w HT) bundled with an Intel 80GB SSD & 5870. I am planning to use this with Honorbuddy, not Demonbuddy hence a little confusion regarding the BAT file.

I am a little confused regarding step 6/7, the BAT file. What is the reason for making the BAT files? I have currently shared my folders for all the programs necessary, and I've got it running on the guest VM without this BAT mapping. I'm kind of tired right now, so I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, would just love to get a fairly simple answer regarding the question.

I am also wondering if it's possible to bypass all the traffic through my host's V P N settings, or do I need to install an V P N on each VMGuest?
      - Found out reading on the Vmware website that NAT makes the vmware use my host computers ethernet connection. :)

      Thanks in advance!

facedark, when you mlink the d3 folder to guest, the simple clicking on the diablo3.exe doesn't work BUT the straight command using cmd works pretty good. You need the bat file that will contain that command to save some time and not type the path to .exe every time you launch d3. Don't know how wow will work in guest invironment though.

You need to set different V_P_N on each guest, if you'll set it on host, all guests will have the same IP :)

      Hello.
      Need help with wm setup.
Can't get it to work properly.
If i start one wm - it works perfect, but if I try to start Diablo on a clone or a PC - I become a gray screen.
      diablo.jpg
My .bat file looks like this:
      code.jpg
So, I can run only one instance of Diablo, the second one - always a gray/white screen and then nothing. (starting Diablo from CMD with "diablo iii.exe" -launch)

      What I'm doing wrong?
      Thank u in advance.
