Funny, i work for a cable company and due to work loads we tell our customers we can have a tech out monday or later (on a friday, for example) Customers understand, butt hurt customers who dont understand this is for entertainment throw a fit and cry.

So, lets say you lose a channel because a transmitter goes down. Do you say "fuck it, we'll wait until Monday," or do the people PAID TO WORK ON THE WEEKEND fix it right away?

transmitter and a bot for a game are very different.

Not really, no. In this case the problem wasn't with the bot proper, but with the server. If your transmitter had a problem, someone would fix it. If someone was working on the weekend for HB they would have been able to hop on the problem that HB's servers are having right away.

Except they aren't a huge cable company, there's only a handful of Devs that work on this bot, and like Bossland said, they are spread over 4 continents with different timezones between them, unlike any cable company i've heard of.

They are clearly working as much as they can, i don't think anyone expects these Devs to work 24/7. This bad of a hiccup is very uncommon with this team and you know if people quit bitching and honestly probably making it less and less worth fixing and give these TALENTED devs some time to figure out a plan of attack to fix these problems, they will come through like they always have the past 3 years.

Honestly, they don't get enough credit for their work. HB is by far the best bot on the market right now, no other bot is as complex as this one and can perform the many tasks that HB can do. I just hope the Devs don't get discouraged from the many lawsuits they are facing, the constant and annoying bugs that keep popping up, and everyone on these forums complaining non-stop, and will keep on keeping on.

Keep up the good work BuddyTeam! You know once everything is working again that people will remember how awesome you guys really are.

      Kudos for being honest.

But to keep the salt out of the wounds , i would chosen another approach.

"We are working day and night to solve the issue and we hope it will be fixed sooner rather than later"

being spread over 4 continents means more around the clock service i would think meaning different time zones.

Also all the functions this bot has half of them dont even work or are full of bugs so that argument is null. Hell 2 months to work on questing for xpac. 6 months now since there was at least a workable non buggy copy.

People have been waiting on dungeonbuddy/instancebuddy and bgbuddy to be fixed/revamped for over a year. Stop getting your heads so far up the devs asses and demand them to deliver what they promised when you purchased this.

All of oyu that argue we have made back far more then what we paid for the bot are clueless. Say you pay for 1 year sub of wow and all of the sudden you cant play it no more because of some odd reason. Well you gonna just sit there and say oh well ill wait 2 months (how long hb has been buggy), yea i thought so. I payed for a lifetime bot with lifetime adequate updates. Not a lifetime subscription to a bot that works a few days out the month. if i wanted to do that i would just by 1 day passes and use it like that but thats not what i bought, i bought a lifetime license. Saying oh you paid one time only, whos fault is that mine? no its the devs tell them to charge more.

      @hitmanace

Bitching wont help anything, honestly I have made more money off using this bot than I paid for the bot, so a few hiccups here and their as long as they always make sure we are not getting banned I don't really care that they have a few issues from time to time, as long as they are actively working to fix the issues that enough honestly. If I was paying a sub for this bot then yeah I would be on their asses for the issues but I am not, as you I paid a reasonable one time fee for access and thus is what I got, and when I got the bot I only got it for GB2 everything else that happened to come with the bot with just icing on the cake. Is there issues? yes. Are they working to fix them? yes. I work in a high pressure tech support postion where our software being down/broken can cost a company thousands a hour. So I am fully awake of what the value of up time is, but being a IT guy I fully understand that even the best networks/servers have down time due to issues.

What you are over looking the most is that HB exploded with MoP dropping, SOOOOOOOOO many people came back after cata, the auth servers exploded, caused what I would guess be a database over load and that is what would lead to the sql issues they are currently having. So It is partly HB's fault for not scaling properly with all the new and old members but at the same time you should understand that with a new xpac means a WHOLE rework of the bot, HB is not just some hook injection bot, you can get that from any team, hell I could probably code one with autoit if I wanted to badly enough, but at the same time the HB team works hard to make sure that 1. we are not all getting banned, 2. the software is well updated and solid.

You are crying about parts of the bot that are not of the core system, if you feel you much about them then code it yourself, they have made HB a wonderful tool in allowing members to code a bot to do what they want it to do. Oh SNAP did you not know that most of what makes HB what it is, is from the community and not directly from the HB team? Gawd I but you never seen that comming.

      TL;DR
      1. Calm down, they know the issue it will be fixed
      2. Yes you paid once, that means they only got paid once It will be fixed, Just SHUT UP AND WAIT.
      3. Some of the lacking things are simply not part of the Core HB, GO MAKE IT YOURSELF.
      4. Stop Crying!!!!!!!

After me and apoc committing our weekend on auth servers (literally committing i haven't slept since 40+ hours and been sitting in front of computer trying to fix auths), seems like we nailed down all issues. We have increased the number of auth servers from 2 to 4, they all been working stable since 5 hours.

We have discovered that we started hitting MySQL limits that weren't even documented after MoP launch and the increase on active sessions.

Since we have our servers working fine now, in next two days we are planning to setup the load balancer and our new infrastructure that is highly scalable and that will hopefully last for a good long time.

Would you look at that. Turns out these guys did work on the weekend and the problem will be fixed soon. So, how about every little whiny brat that threw a fit and accused them of quitting, or whatever, grows a pair of balls and posts one more time with a "Thank you!"? I'm not saying you have to, it's just the decent thing to do.

Yes it is for having shit hosting for their servers in the first place and not deploying backup/secondary systems as soon as the issue popped up.

      LOL .

You really think the auth-servers are in someone's basement.

They are most likely renting from a company and i seriously doubt they are behind some router that can be flushed by the customers when ever they feel like it.

We probably talking about Cisco or HP switches here with a very limited group of ppl that can access them.

Allthough , i might be completely offside and it actually IS placed in a basement ;)

A server in a basement would overheat :)

I have a server :), but servers with a "cabinet" cost a fortune (Which I also have)
