This suspension happened because one or more characters on this account were identified using an unauthorized cheat program, also known as a "hack.". These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harm the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and superscede the intended limits of the game.

Happened to both my accounts and both my friends who I know bot as well. Happened exact same time others state.

i need to know if this was a random occurance or if this is something to worry about cause until i find out im not botting seeing as im a main tank for a high ranked progression guild and a 72hr ban would piss my GM off very much

 

It goes without saying, you should never bot on an account you can't afford to lose. Or as some used to say, "Never Bot your main."

That being said, account bans are often due to player negligence, or as we like to say in IT, "operator error." For the most part Botting is safe in that the program itself is not detectable. But Blizzard can very easily infer Botting due to carelessness on your part, i.e., Botting in BG's unattended, Botting for marathon lengths of time > 8-9 hours, Flooding the AH with trade goods, Trading large amounts of Gold, etc. All Blizzard needs to do is be fairly certain that you're Botting in order to Ban you. They don't need proof. There is no court of appeals. Give them no reason to be suspicious and you should be fine. Been Botting since 2010 here and never been banned or even suspended, so safe Botting is very possible.

hey just wanted to say I appealed both of my suspensions and I just got unbanned. I just acted clueless and said I am a rule following player part of a reputable guild etc. guild luck

Was using GB for a couple 14+hour days and got a temp ban
Appeal was no problem and only took 12 hours
Gonna stick with BG and go about it a bit smarter
