I run a small business so I often get idiots charging back ?5-25 and I've never lost once, all these are electronic/non tangible goods.

However I sold a wow account on may the 13th. I have been charged back $175 on July 1st, still waiting to here results from PayPal. Anyone got experience with a wow account buyer, personal or reseller issuing a chargback 40+ days after the sale?

This stupid -$175 is hurting my business, I have a balance of -$5 due to this and my expenses come out next week so if it's not resolved I'm fucked...

not sure about this, but i've only seen people lose there accounts this way.
there are specific ways to not get a charge back, something you have to do to block it but can't remember exactly what it was:O.

well... most pple dont get it back other than plead ur case to paypal nothing u can do except say you went on vacation and your account was compromised odds are he probably transferred all of them off with that money he charged back... but if u get the account back u will be able to sell it again and the guy will be out the money if he did transfer but u have to get your account back fast as you can if you lose because blizzard might not be able to resolve it if it is to late

Unfortunatly there is a high chance you will not be recieving the money. Fill out a compromised/hacked form on the battlenet website to retrieve your account.

The police care really little about things like this.

It's well known that PayPal offers customers the ability to charge back a transaction by claiming the other party didn't give the goods. This is the exact reason a lot of people do not allow PayPal transactions for anything to do with games as most people will just recall it.

If you want to be safe, use cheque or wire transfer. These are non-recallable.

Not sure about others, but me personally when I sell accounts i prefer to use playerauctions. You get protection from stuff like that. As they handle the sale, you lose a little money to fees to them, but have sold many accounts through them with not a single issue.

depends how easy things are for them to be fair. If the guy lives in the same country and there is clear evidence they probably will care and probably will do something as its the way they work.

They have drug raids, house thefts, muggings, rape, gbh and all sorts of things to deal with. A paypal chargeback for a game account is the last thing on their minds. They'll just tell you to speak to PayPal.

I have never experienced such, but a rumor i had been hearing is that you should accept all payments as donations, because they cant dispute a donation and legally it looks like your not selling an account if that ever came into question

I've been on the other end, I ordered a powerleveling service (long before I knew I could just bot it myself) and the account got suspended, then banned all while they were leveling. I asked for a refund, they denied and kept asking me to give them a new account... I only got a partial refund, due to lack of funds in the leveler's paypal account. I never saw the rest of it.

I think that paypal can't pull funds out of your bank acount if you get charged back, but they can and do take funds out of the paypal balance, which is why I don't store any money in paypal. I've even heard of people using a completely separate bank account that has a zero balance just to protect themselves from paypal transactions.

Send them a post card with the account info (which you will of course provide first via msn or whatever). Take photo of the package so they can't say you didn't send it. In essence sell physical goods instead of virtual... You can't do anything now about the money you lost.

When paying or receiving, " Mass pay " is one of the only ways i know of that cant get chargebacked. but with every WoW account ,you need to send a peice of paper to them thru the usps so it has a trackiing number, that way they cant dispute it.
