I need a refund, no one is admitting my issue

My HB is just forever downloading mesh, it's not the firewall, it's not the antivirus. I have copied mesh folder which is 1.14 Gigabyte from another Chinese guy(I'm in China). I attached my log last time, but the problem is so obvious and I don't think the log helps.

I deleted my folder thousands of times now, I need a straight answer, or else I'm gonna request a refund.

Don't tell me "just let it download, it's fine" cause it has downloaded for more than 2 hours each time and it still does nothing, there were no such problems just two weeks ago. View attachment 5140 2012-11-21 11.29.txt

 

my honorbuddy folder is 37.7 MB
about 1000 MB = 1gb.
something is wrong lol...

Delete everything honorbuddy related.
desktop/downloads/other folders ect
go to computer , c drive / users\appdata and check those 3 local folders for honorbuddy and delete... i think its that top folder of the 3.

then do a disk clean
then do a disk defrag.

come to this website.
download the latest honorbuddy
extract to the desktop.

double click the honorbuddy.exe
login
you can either start useing dungeonbuddy or BGbuddy
or download a script for Questing or farming ect.

and click start and thats it.

 

total mesh are 2gb btw, u should reinstall all requirement i guess, or even reinstall ur windows, if u already copy the mesh from ur chinese friend, thats mean another bot are working, then the problem is on ur side. No one have all the answear...

 

Make a new folder called Meshes, and in honorbuddy click on "Settings and Tools" and in the meshes section change the mesh folder to the one you just created.

now, from what i can see at least in that log you showed me, it downloaded at least 1 mesh fine, but you saw it toss the error then pressed stop and start and stop again, and didnt give it enough time to try to redownload the file.

once you have the new folder created. press start and let it run.

I changed computer, network, from home to my office, and these all do nothing to change to problem. And now you say it's my issue?

 

I know it must be the mesh, but due to the lag between europe internet and Chinese internet, is there a way for me to donwload the whols mesh package？ I checked the mesh I copied from my friend, the files were named after each region in the game, but what I downloaded from HB were named" hawaii island“, I guess the original HB just won't recognize such namings.

 

no, there are no full mesh packages available.

 

Hawaii island is Pandaria, nothing wrong with it.

By default, your program is going to try and download meshes to a Appdata folder. This is less than ideal.

Make a folder INSIDE your C:/Honorbuddy (or wherever it's located) call it 'Meshes' then in the programs settings direct download meshes to that folder instead.

DONT put your 1.5gigs of stuff in there (yet). Try with a blank folder first and see what happens.

Think about it logically a second - The program works for thousands of people. The error is YOUR end. Throwing 'refund' demands because of your error isn't the right way of going about it. I suspect if you walked into a shop in China with that attitude, they'd take your kid or shoot you square in the face or something. (j/ks - g'day from Australia)

 

from the log, even though you didnt let it run very long i can see it DID download a mesh, therefor you should be able to download the meshes.

 

I asked this once, how can I open port 5031? I googled a lot and all the answers didn't work.

 

it would depend on who makes your router, there's no one size fits all instructions for it.

 

I know it's downloading, also I have a sofeware monitoring the data downloading by HB and it downloaded about 500KB in 10 minutes, i'm trying to emphasize the "lag" issue here.

Also I created a brand new folder mesh in my HB folder, and it downloaded just one file in 20 minutes, so i'm not saying that it does nothing, I'm saying that it's not practical to download it with such lag, that's why I'm asking for alternative.

 

you could try and use a V P N and tunnel your traffic closer for a more direct connection, once it has all the meshes it needs you shouldnt have any problems.

 

Try Googling portforward, there's a big site with steps on every single router on how to open a specific port.
Also making an exception in your firewall should help which you should be able to find some instructions on through Google too.

from what hes saying the ports open and it IS downloading just taking forever.

 

I did what CodenameG said and clearly creating a new "mesh" folder didn't help in my case.


And I do not even want to get into the question of "logic" here, you're saying because its working "for other people" and that makes me unreasonable to request for a refund?
The premise is that:1. it failed; 2. I described my problem; 3. I did all the suggestions which are suppose to be the "panacea" and they failed as I would expect

I posted my issue once and no one was actually reading my descrpition, they just threw me bunch of "attach your log" and "let it download" which I can easily find on the forum by myself. The fact that HB fails to work for just me may not justify the refund request, but the fact that I can't fix it by myself as I'm no professional and that my complain has not been taken seriously might just do it. I put "refund" in the title just to draw attention from the support team; I'm not some kind of nuts who would curse whenever something fails for me.

I didn't mean to say so much, but please have yours "facts" confirmed before judging someone.

 

Hey sorry to hear you're having a horrible time downloading mesh file. I too experience the same issue when downloading mesh files, it will either constantly say downloading mesh or simply error out.

I have a work around solution that I have to use in order for HB to successfully download mesh files...

I use a tunneling service, such as Ping Zapper and a tunneling app such as Proxifier. Keep in mind PingZapper is a PAID service and Proxifier is a PAID application. I use a tunneling end-point that is as close as possible to France. I've been informed this is where the mesh server is hosted.

While this solution does not provide error free downloading it is infinitely better than simply leaving it up to HB.
