Mods feel free to close/lock this thread if im not allowed to ask this or if its too offtopic.

Would anyone here think about buying a Virtual Computer ( aka VPS, Google VPS for more in-depth information ) with Wow ( And latest honorbuddy / Gatherbuddy downloaded ) installed and ready to go if it were available, Let me elaborate.

it would be like having a VMware computer, but instead of it being actually Hosted on your computer ( Which consumes alot of bandwidth and computing power ) Hosted elsewhere on a stable internet connection ( 24/7 )

this "Virtual computer" would be used for all your gatherbuddy/honorbuddy botting purposes ( you would be given a Username/Password to log into your "Virtual Computer's" Desktop)

Anyway i was just wondering what people think of this / would you consider it.

i have tried it long time ago with glider. There is a way to fix the problem with "wow can't start with remotedesktop" (can't remember how). But then there was an other problem because of the graphic card of the most virtual servers doesn't support 3D or something like that ^^

Yes, let me input all my login details for both the bot and warcraft on a service other people have access to.

      Stupid idea is stupid.

Not to mention the mass ban from clients within your IP ranges.

I would never use one of these for the simple fact of the security issues it brings up.

i dont think virtual machines should be used for this purpoise, imagine running 5-6 bots on 1 virtual machine, and having 4-5 customers.. would give security issues, and servers prob wont have the graphics power and expansion possibilities needed to get this up and running..

doesnt really seem lucrative, nor pratical..

Wouldent work, you need 3D acceleration, so you need a graphics card.

actually VMWare 7 suppourts 3D Iam running several Workstations with other 3D Games for Mouse Macro Botting - they have come quite a way and it works, so i would say WoW works too since WoW doesnt have special 3D ;)

but back to topic - nice idea but, like Lt. Leon said, not possible/practical/safe/etc.

Ok people i think you need to understand how this works, the security aspect is 100% SAFE let me explain ( the virtual computers would be virtualized using Xen, Xen can only be run on a linux box ( Safe )) Its hard to explain but each computer or "Virutal computer" are 100% Separate and cannot ( 100% Impossible ) get into or "Gain Access" to other people's "Virtual computers".

Wow runs fine on these virtualized computers ( I tested this ) , it differs from vmware because the computers are NOT Paravirtualized ( windows is closed source you need specific drivers for computers to run ), And dose not require third party tools in order for the "Virtualized Computers" to run

i will set my spare box up today as a proof of concept. Specs are

      12gb DDR3 RAM
      Intel core i7 ( Over-clocked to 4 )
      2x Ati Radeon 5970
      M9 Thermatake Case ( Good cooling )

      I will post screenies later

one more thing THIS IS NOT VMWARE.

i dont understand how you think i would get ( or want ) your login info?
You can do a direct net install from an offsite location, ie ( if you are that paranoid you can host an .iso of your fav windows and install from their ), ( you set up your username/password when you setup windows ).
