      I've been botting this account since MoP release for about 8-10 hours a day via gatherbuddy. Interestingly enough, the one night I didn't turn off the bot and was subsequently botting for ~20 hours, I ended up with an "abuse of economy" ban email a week later.

      Now normally (since beginning of Cata) I've gotten one suspension (abuse of economy, third party etc.) and then the second time I got caught I've always been banned (with like one reversal of that ever). I've appealed my ban already but they responded saying that it has been confirmed and my account will not be reopened.

      To my main question. I added a month of sub time via credit card literally the day before they banned me. There is no doubt in my mind that they waited for me to resub before banning my account. I'm wondering how (and if) I can contact my bank/CC company and/or Blizzard to have the charge reversed since they have taken my money for a one month sub but instantaneously banned me from access to the game. What is your advice?

      Oh and I'll also fill out a BBB report. It's fun to give them busy work. The last time I did it they sent me their response via LA BBB branch stating that the IP used for botting was the same as the IP used by the player and credit card owner (obviously both me).

      OK, so here's my last reservation:
      The CC number and information that were being used on the account that is banned are also actively being used on my main account, which hasn't been banned and which I would really prefer to not have banned. From what I've read I understand that by issuing a charge back Blizzard will lock access to your account.

      Now if they lock access to my account that is already banned, I obviously could care less. But if they lock access to all accounts that use that CC number, I'll end up losing my main account as well.

      Should I be concerned about this? If I change the CC number on my main account do you think they would be thorough and check the history of this CC? I certainly want to charge them back; I've been banned plenty of times, but never have they banned me the day after I submitted a new payment.

      I got off the phone with the billing department and they said since the payment was "close to the cutoff date" that they might be able to refund me. After waiting on hold I was told that billing wouldn't be able to issue a refund but that there was a slight chance of account administration refunding it. I've opened another ticket, but if I want to get my money back I think I'm going to have to dispute it.

      Any account associated with that CC can potentially be locked if you dispute charges.

      I used to think that same CC info etc wouldn't matter, but recent events made me doubt that conclusion. I'd leave it alone.

      Well thanks for the help, to those of you who offered earnest answers. I'll probably leave it alone. To HSMD and Gentoo, you're both relatively new to the forums and probably botting in general. Responding like douche bags when someone asks a clear and concise question makes you appear childish and immature. As a future notice, try to stay on topic and be polite :).

      The reason you are not getting serious answers is the nature of the question.
      They are not taking you seriously because you want your money back after you broke the rules and feel you were cheated.

      Most of the time, accounts are flagged and will be banned at a later date.
      I'm sure they didn't wait until they could charge you for the next month and ban you.

      You can always try to dispute it with the bank or paypal.
      Or accept the loss and move on.

      Guys, breaking rules is not breaking laws.... there is a legitimate argument in his logic. ToS are contracts ftmp so it's a hard case to fight in any legal forum, but we are basically fighting the same fight by praying HB wins over Blizzard for the same f'in thing. I'm mean it is literally the same exact thing when you start comparison side by side. We can all state we know the risks and yada yada, but that HB fights and we want them to win makes us ally's with ppl who think like the OP.

      Every single person who posted here is being hypocritical! EVEN A MOD FFS.

      It may have some validity, but I would never have the patience to go through the process the OP is going through.

      I understand, but he literally just feels personally wronged rather than just annoyed Blizz wants to tank "our" collective candy. There's no reason ppl can't atleast agree to something they already agree on instead of scolding him. I've called things as I see them as well, but this really wasn't one of those things when you actually think while you read what he is saying.

      Most of the answers have actually been serious, and helpful too (I think 4 to 2). Compared to many of the posts I read on this forum, mine has been very well thought out and polite, and as a moderator I would hope that you could understand and respect that. Also as a moderator I can see how you would be very subjective and biased seeing how many borderline unintelligible posts there are on this forum.

      Let me help clear up my post for you: I am aware that I broke the rules. I have been botting since WoW#, so probably before 99.9% of this forum (probably not hyperbole). I understand the risks, and have been banned several times. I have never complained about those bans in the past. I never said I felt "cheated", those are your words not mine. The ONLY reason I am even considering a charge back is because I was banned literally the day after (potentially the minute after, since I didn't try to log until the day after) I resubbed. Considering that factor, I don't see how the nature of the question has anything to do with their responses, and after reading some of Gentoo's posts, they all seem rather asinine and insulting, so I think his response has more to do with bad temperament and absolutely nothing to do with the "nature" of my question (not that that would excuse him for being an ass).

      More so, I may even have a chance of getting a refund from Blizzard itself (slim). The nature of the issue is the proximity between the ban and the credit card purchase, and the amount of time for a payment to be processed.

      As far as them waiting to ban me and accounts being flagged, that's all hearsay; no one knows how Blizzard goes about their ban process, we all have our little theories, and that is one of mine. Anyways I hope that cleared things up for you. I'm going to let this thread die now as it has served its purpose and I really don't want to argue with people, it isn't conducive in any way.

      Right. I would completely agree if I added a 6-month or 1 year sub to my account and I was banned the next day.
      I would be raising hell because that is quite a chunk of change.
      However $15 for me means I'm just going to walk to class this week or keep myself from buying snacks at the store.

      So I guess what I'm trying to say is, does the trouble of the process justify the return?

      If account admin is going to give him a refund, then it is all fine and dandy.

      But further inquiries could lead to worse results.
      Even after the ban has been issued, further inquiries about payment could lead to action being taken on some of his other accounts.

      One kinda similar example could be 72 hour bans being upgraded to permanent.
      I've had 72 hour bans upgraded to permanent because I put in a ticket about it, and it has happened to friends as well.

      Easy answer, just call your bank and say you aren't going to use the time. And would like a charge back.

      What you are talking about is chargeback fraud, which is actually against the law. You willingly agreed to pay Blizzard for their service, and you were contractually obligated to pay them the amount agreed upon. You also agreed to follow the terms of service, which clearly state that they can ban your account at any time, for any reason. And if you check those terms of service, you will see that they are not contractually obligated to continue to serve you after the contract is breached.

      It's just poor luck that your re-activation happened to fall on the days that your subscription re-activated. Look at the number of bans there has been the last couple of weeks. Do you think every one of these user's subscriptions happened on the same day? I'm willing to say no.

      This has been pointed out already, but doing a chargeback on your account may cause blizzard to actually research and ban every other account that is tied to the accounts you do a chargeback on. The chances of you ever getting any of those accounts back will be zero, and you'll be lucky if you ever even receive a response from Blizzard down the road concerning the accounts.

      everyone is going to have different opinions on this, like the mod above me... however its not impossible to see things in a different light and come to a completely different conclusion.. do you accept blizzards tos as the end all? or do you feel that just maybe its a bit over the top and you should have some rights despite it being "there game there rules".. if you feel the latter, just don't respond to the op.. its not constructive.. mutter what a douche and move on to the next thread.

      op... after reading this i decided to call my bank and find out what legal ramifications a person had... according to the bank it is very clear cut and dry.

      i purchased a game time card, the card was delivered, so i can not claim i never recieved the item

      however, they stated that the game time card grants me 30 days of game time. if i did not recieve 30 days of game time i could reverse the charges. or for that matter, if i paid blizz 15 dollars for a service and they canceled said service for any reason, i'm entitled to a refund with blizzard having the option to prorate that refund. much like an internet bill, electricity bill or any other service.. despite what has become "common knowledge" on these boards, blizzards rules and laws do not necessarily coincide with united states law.. call your bank.. get a refund.. if they do anything about it it will be freeze all accounts that are on that card.. and so be it, refund them all, buy a gamecard at walmart and unfreeze it.

      i think we as a community can and should be reversing the charges.. if for no other reason then making the next bot cheaper.

      banned really wont hurt your life...blizzard would just ban you instead taking you a action for being crime record to make you look bad....so your life will be clean from no crime record for breaking the rules..i hope i am making a sense of point view? sorry my english is bad, its my second language.

      I got a full refund of all unplayed game time.. They can steal your money you pay for a service you get a service. If I you violated a contract they need to prove when why and how... Not just cause they have the power.. As I told the rep... The fine people are rift will enjoy the money that was once yours... Anyone want to trade some wow gold for rift plat!!?
