      Simple solution: Free versions here... Paid versions elsewhere...

      [h=2]do?na?tion[/h] /doʊˈneɪ ʃən/ Show Spelled [doh-ney-shuh n] noun 1. an act or instance of presenting something as a gift, grant, or contribution.

      2. a gift, as to a fund; contribution.

      When you give money to an author who posts works on these forums, it almost invariably is in fact a donation and not a purchase. A purchase involves entitlement and support. In general, you shouldn't expect that here. You give money, you have the opportunity to see more 'advanced' work from an author. If they decide to stop playing wow, writing CRs, logging in, living, etc, then there's nothing new for you.
      If you want to make a purchase and some entitlement, then contact an author and make a deal with them. Then it won't be a donation at all.

      Sorry I am not sure you are following the topic here. You have just posted something from a dictionary. Feel free to read a bit of the comments in this thread and join us on the level.

      @Darkskyz3

      You have buffed your post count in this thread heavily. And you too are still not following the thread.

      I think everyone is clear now on what the difference is between paid and a donation. I think its more about do people like how its a full working free version with a few extra things for the paid one or does the community want it so they can have fully paid ones, or trial versions.

      Free versions here and signature links to "Author's Other Works" if they desire. Simple and elegant.

      I think that anything promised or implied in return for money should be kept off of here. DLLs can have some pretty nasty stuff in them and you want to keep them segregated.

      Edit: Sorry I only got through about 3 pages of the back and forth discussion going nowhere. I hadn't realized that in the 12+ pages after that, that the thread had gone pretty off topic from the original post (and thread title) into territory that was actually productive.

      If developers can maintain the integrity of the product to ensure that only those who purchased have access, I would honestly vote for fully paid. If that is not realistic, I would vote for full free working version w/paid extras; not because I don't want to pay, but because, well, it sucks paying for something that just about anyone can get for free. I have my morals, but I also have a tight budget.

      AW: Growing trend - Selling a product and disguising it as donations

      To be more concrete:
      Download Superbad and be happy.

      To be honest: i would never pay for a CC. It takes ~ 5-6 hours to write a fully working CC with movement.

      Coders that speak about thousands hours of work should do something else. They just lie - or do the wrong stuff.

      Peace. :D

      Ehm no...

      one can "Code" a CC that fast, but then it needs hours of testeng changeing perfecting, remaking an then again testing, and also a good CC is writen by someone who have played that class by hand to learn it every move and skill.

      So you my friend are wrong.

      Exactly. I dont just make a profile with Zap Recorder and release it. I make them by hand then spend atleast 2 days testing them before I release them. It's a job in itself but I enjoy it for the most part.

      I say who cares, it only jealous people who complain. Allowing these donations even though yes in some cases the word is being twisted a bit from the truth makes for better profile/cc's and plugins yes we could banish all donation wares, and have a forum full of half ass CC's with no testing, low quality support, and rarely requested feature's added that took 6 hours to put together, if HB changes the API or breaks something, chance's are your "free" cc will not be updated to reflect these changes very fast unless the creator is still actually using it at the time. Same with profile's anyone can load Zaprecorder up make a profile, and release something that gets stuck every 3 way points. At the end of the day you really do get what you pay for/donate for and that's not just a fact for these forums. In all honesty i wish HB would setup a section and support paid wares.

      Please buddy, loading zap recorder up and getting stuck every 3 way points. You guys act like making profiles is hard. Give me a break.

      @Gatherit

      Yes you do exactly that, who are you trying to fool? The hardest part of what you do is drawing red lines on the map with mspaint.

      You guys are hilarious

      This guy upsets me, he will not take my money :/

      Why do you feel the need to escalate? They didn't say it was hard, but that they spent their time making potentially so-so profiles excellent.

      Because people on this forum remind me of a previous statement I replied with. People use small things and try to project them and themselves into something they are not and/or are far from. [GB2] Profiles are not hard to create at all, adding blackspots, again not hard, mailbox, repair; no these things are not hard. I call people out on that shit, don't think for a second you can tell me only anyone else who has ever created a profile it takes days and days and days to create one. I can make one in 5-10 minutes and it will never get stuck as I do make all my own and never have issues. Hell I even reverse them for variety and they still never get stuck, never needed a blackspot. The only ever exception to needing one or two is the old deepholme profiles.

      I look at some of these profiles 20-30 blackspots? that is not taking days to create that is editing your rush job later on. There is also nothing wrong with that either, but I call it as I see it and people here are full of shit majority of the time. Hour or so for a profile sure, test, test ,test but days? unless you are doing something major with that profile you do not need days........who are you trying to fool.

      I make and share profiles all the time, but unlike other people. I share them , get a 100 views and take them down, re-post new ones so they do not get over used.
      I made them for Pirox and I have made them here, so please don't try and bs me about what it takes to make a [GB2] profile.

      Anyways this thread served its purpose and is starting to run off topic. Majority of us know this community a little better now and where we stand. We know who and where HB, its devs and the 3rd party coders feel about this subject and how they roll. Some people had their eyes opened, some defend myself and other people that share my opinions and others disagree. That is all I wanted was to open this up for debate and see where this grey area stands. Best of luck to everyone and thank you all who had valid opinions and arguments to add.

      who care's if it's not hard..making a loaf of bread is easy..they still charge you for it, changing a flat tyre is easy but you will still get charged for it if you do not do it yourself.

      Sounds like you're jelly to me.

      I think the argument is that they disguise it as donating.

      It happens everywhere though? it's not just a HB thing it's common, Schools ask for a Gold coin "donation" to allow the student to come in free dress.

      shops like Bunnings and mitre10 and various others just around my area do BBQ's on sundays where you "donate" a gold coin to receive a sausage on bread or whatever, and the exact words they use are Donation, it's everywhere and it's not taboo perfectly normal if you ask me. Other example's are them Raffles that RSPCA and shit do, they says "DONATE" over $50 and get an extra 100 bonus entries, Same thing is applied on the forum here For free you get this version, but if you donate Over $30 you also get this.
