NOTICE TO MY USERS: I stopped playing WoW in somewhere in 5.1. I've just returned to the game as of 5.4. I am currently reassessing my projects and will try to update everything as soon as I figure out where I'm at. At the time I left this profile was barely released let alone polished. I'm tickled to see so many still use it reasonably successfully in spite of its very beta status. It will be getting love very soon as soon as my newest toon is old enough...and I remember how to work ProfessionBuddy.

CURRENT STATUS: Minor reported issues but useable.

0 - 525 Halfhill Style!

About
This is a barely beta release of my first PB profile. Currently it will train cooking via the Halfhill Market Method anywhere from skill level 0 to 525. It will buy or gather ALL the necessary ingredients.

• Yes, it will fish if you need to. It will not equip a pole or use a lure at this time because I haven't figured out how to reequip your weapon and that's important for....
• Yes, it will go farm the Wildfowl Breast if you need them.

I'm working furiously on the next update which will pick up and complete Sungshin's starter quest and the quest for Zen Master training automatically and then pick up the Way quests. I'll even complete them if you happen to have the mats. In the future I will probably make a version that goes on to master all the Ways cause I'm stupid ambitious like that.

Instructions

Download the entire "[PB] Pandarian Cooking Trainer" folder to your hard drive. You may copy the contents to the Profiles folder in PB or you can open the main profile from wherever you saved the folder. Just make sure you retain the folder structure wherever you put it or you won't be able to farm Wildfowl Breast.​

Need To Know

• If you are starting from 0 or 1 skilll, I recommend you manually pick up So You Want to Be a Chef from Sungshin when you get there. You will complete the objectives while training without having to make 5 more Sliced Peaches. I'm cheap so I don't like to do stuff twice. Next version will do this for you.
• If you have the non-vendor mats in advance this will go super quick. Don't blink or you'll miss it.
• If you have to fish for the mats, the higher your fishing skill the faster it goes.
• If you don't have the breasts, you will be doing combat in V4W. You take a reasonably safe route to the location and the mobs are non-aggro. They aren't that tough and you can single pull so even a fresh-to-Pandaria 85 should be able to handle them, especially a bot.
• It will not sell anything unless your bags get super crowded (less than 5 free slots) then it will sell all the cooked food except Fish Cake (in case you're working on Cloud Serpent too.) A future version will give you some control over that. Right now you're stuck with my choices. This means if you have a stack of any of these recipes as your food you will lose them. Deal with it. =)

Golden Carp by Cooking Skill
If you don't have fishing skill, don't want to also raise your fishing skill or already have a boatload of carp on some other toon

Below Level 60: 42 Golden Carp
90 to 270: 36 Golden Carp
330 to 420: 12 Golden Carp

Wildfowl Breast by Cooking Skill
At cooking levels between 510 and 519 the profile will check your bags for 7 Wildfowl Breasts. If it doesn't find them, it will hunt them. If you want to plan ahead put 7 Wildfowl Breast in your bags before starting this profile if you are not over 519 skill. And if you are, why are you using this?! =) You only need 2 for the actual cooking but I built in the extra 5 with the hopes of adding the Ways of... quests in the near future which will require 5 more Wildfowl Breasts.

Great profile upto 500+ but the profile is saying "Err: Unable to find profile: HBProfiles\FarmWildfowl.xml".

I've put it in all the folders just incase but it still wont pick it up

Ignore the attached log that was for a different error.

 

I need a full log from a failure so I can look for the problem. If you've retained the folder structure it shouldn't have any problem finding FarmWildfowl.

Also tell me exactly where you saved the profiles, please. You have to have [PB]Pandarian Cooking Trainer.xml in the same folder with a subfolder called HBProfiles and in that folder a file called FarmWildfowl.xml. This whole thing can live in the PB Profiles folder (my HBProfiles folder would merge with his) or it can live elsewhere but it must retain the structure.

 

Train sell loop

Hey, thanks for the profile.

I have an issue where it goes in a loop between selling and training. Log follows under:

 

Note to self: add logging that reports the cooking level and the recipe the bot is working on so troubleshooting is easier.

Thanks for posting a log. I can't begin to tell you how appreciate it is. I have not re-tested anything except my Tillers profile since 5.1. and I know for a fact that the patch broke stuff. I know that vendor interaction was broken in .517 and I read somewhere that some changes also connected to buying and selling in PB were needed since the patch but that's hearsay at this point. That being said near the start of the log you have several system access violations specifically related to PB. The only way I know of to truly clean that up is to restart both WoW and then HB. Since its all one log I know you didn't restart WoW.

Please do this for me: Start fresh. Start WoW. Start HB, don't do anything else but launch my profile. If its still broken post a new log and tell me your toon level and cooking level so I can try to emulate the routine and find the problem. I know it worked before the patch. I don't actually have a toon of the right toon and skill levels to test this anymore but I might be able to fake it enough to figure out where its breaking down.

Thank you very much for the log. I don't see in the log that it did anything but get stuck in the selling loop. Did it buy or cook anything before getting stuck in the loop? I believe this is the same problem that most users are experiencing since PB has not yet been updated (see red notice in my first post). Your wording in your post, however, implies that it did some training before getting stuck and if so, that's good information to have. Can you tell me what your cooking level was and if it raised any before getting stuck?

This is my first PB profile and I'm not as used to the PB logs as I am questing logs. Knowing that PB has issues right now makes this harder but I will do my best to fix anything that's in my domain.

 

Yes, It started from level 1, then got to level 62 and got into the stuck loop. I didnt post that log because I saw that you preferred a clean log/start. I restarted wow, and HB, loaded the profile and hit start. All it did was loop from that point, but like I said it did make it to level 62, part of it making the sliced peaches as part of the quest. I dont know if this info helps, let me know if I can help more.

 

It is looping at 62 where it tries to learn the fish jerky but never makes any, it did go fish, but with no trainer it is easier to mail the fish, with the fish and leveling it by hand past 90 resolves the issue, and it will cook to the end of the profile at 525.

 

I'm getting reports of this since patch 5.1 and I'm not certain if the problem is with PB or not. Since cooking is a one shot deal I'm out of toons to test it with. However, I came up with a way in my head this morning (when I was supposed to be paying attention in staff meeting) on how I can possibly fake it out enough to test if I missed a piece in the design of the fishing section or if the bug is a new introduction with 5.1.

The fact that it will continue if you have the fish tells me that it's more likely to be my fault than PB's fault. Its first on my to do list when I get time in game. I promise.

To confirm: except for the going fishing part the profile has no problem purchasing the mats and cooking the items?

rechecked on another char, if you have the Golden Carp at start it runs through the whole profile fine, something in the check for them at 62 isn't working even after you get them until your onto the next craftable.

 

This is so helpful. Its amazingly harder to troubleshoot when you don't actually have a toon without cooking. =) My next baby has 7.5 more levels to go.

 

I've made a change to the profile that might resolve the problem. For those interested in more detail, that level was the only level where I was still using a CanCraft conditional. I don't know why it would fail the CanCraft test but its the only difference between the steps you say work and the ones that don't. I have added some blunt debug messages to logging in case it still fails so I can't get some idea of exactly where its failing when I read the next log. If any of you still have a toon that can go through the profile without having the fish on hand to test it I would appreciate it. Please post your results and your log either way for my improvement purposes.

Bought 42 golden carp but I had some issues where the bot didn't notice that I had the carp which meant that I had to do a few steps by myself, but nevertheless
