if someone: uses a keypresser and macros to level in random BGs. I heard that some people get 3 hour to 3 week suspensions, does this level of botting fall into the regions of a perma-ban if caught? and what are the chances of being caught?
why wouldn't you do it? I thought that, if you were to be caught, they would be lenient, since you were just using macros.
Player reports will nail you pretty quick, plus like xwozone said why would you do that? At least BGBuddy doesn't make it so obvious you are not there.
chances of being caught are higher, but penalty of actually being caught is much lower? since you are just using macros.
because you are making use of macros, a tool that blizzard has given you from the start. Yes, I may be using keypressers, but they can't verify that. They can't verify I am not at the keyboard just mindlessly pressing the macro keys
Erm they can verify it when a GM opens a window to talk to you or teleports you to some place. A normal player would talk or stop but a "mindless" macro would carry on, like I said Blizz would see no difference between that and a bot program as the intended function is the same. Why you seem to think a macro endlessly repeating would suffer less of a penalty I'm unsure, do you have some documentation showing that Blizz treat it differently? As rumour and hearsay is different from fact I think you find.
