We have seen a lot of 72h suspensions and a few permabans lately which is rather concerning. Is HB detected? Some say yes but most people say no, it would be evident that HB is detected simply by the flood of ban topics on this very forum section but what if blizzard are detecting HB and sending out the suspensions slowly? Not possible but believe me, if blizzard did detect HB they wouldn't give you a second chance by "suspending" you for 3 days, no they would simply close your account and be done with it. Now where the hell did those bans come out from? Well the simple answer is - player reports! Player reports that we're sent to blizzard take ages to be realized and for blizz to take action, you might think you were never reported, but not every player report is followed by:"OMg bot I reportz you!!11!oneone", yes I do agree that the average WoW player's IQ is similar to a lima bean but not everyone informs you when they have filed a bot report against you. Another theory is that blizzard monitors how many mobs you kill per day, get real there are 11 million people playing WoW (if that's still true) don't you think blizz has better things to do than monitor 11 million people to see their activities ingame so they can ban a handfull of people that use bots. Now I'm not denying that they CAN monitor your daily activities but they only do this if you have been reported and in need of more proof they simply monitor your kills/day and if they much more than the usual then they can ban you. Now I personally don't support this theory simply because the fact that you can be farming some rare drop or you can be leveling up by grinding in a certain spot. There is even a theory that Hawker brought up that you get banned if you are putting up no auctions, this is, well, kinda untrue as I never posted auctions while I boted and I haven't recieved any bans plus the fact that a crapload of players don't post anything on the AH while leveling their alts. Hope I helped and please don't flame me I just wanted to express my view on the current situation, do feel free to discuss it tho! P.S. Kinda forgot the question mark in thread title, how iliterate P.P.S. Sorry for the bad english!
WOW! It?s so cool to place a reply like that! I wish I could do that!!!! Idiot. OT: I started botting like 1 week ago, so no, I haven?t been banned (yet)
its not detected, if you read the topics well enough there has been several replies with the reason there most likely been banned. Most of the accounts didn't had auctions running on them and only lvling a char or pvping. All 72 hrs, had this in common. All perm bans where prolly due to player reports. (notice: You don't need to get whispers from other players for them to report you.)
Here is something to remember and this has been said before. There are more users now then earlier this year using HB/GB with the increase of usage there will obviously be more bans/suspensions. We'll probably never know the actual cause of a suspension and all anyone can do is speculate. Morga
I second that. I have been botting on 4 diff. accts since day one of HB and not had one ban or suspension. HB/GB is not detected (period) Best of luck to you not getting reported; bot smart and safe and you probably will not.
Hawker has an crazy theory, and i have to say, i like it from day to day. Most of that banned accs did never use the Auction House. Its just one sentence, but look deep into it.
I got a 72 hour ban and was using AH everyday. I'd like to point out that everyday was only 5 to 15 auctions a day so not to much either.
I have been botting for 6 months non stop. I've received 2 perma bans, and 12 suspensions in last 3 days. Started with 1.9.5.1. Haven't had any bans on new accounts using 1.9.5.2. I had a certain error popup that I'm not repeating here but we'll just say. It couldn't have been any worse of a popup to see. If anyone Admin/Mod only wants to know about it they can pm me. I've already reported it to one. If your a normal user and pm me about this and your not one of my good friends I'll place you on permanent ignore.
I had a perma ban as well, but it was my own fault, I knew I should not have been doing what i was doing .. lol Not stopping me from sending some ripping emails to blizzard about it
I had a suspension, then a permaban, which was reversed with a simple email, but there wasn't an option for that.
I can attest to the statement since I've followed it. Have not been banned and I'm already working on my 2nd 80 after getting my first to 80 and farming enough honor to completely gear him with high level pvp epics. I also think many bans are due to carelessness on the behalf of the user. Do not bot for 20+ or so hours at a time...while its true some individuals may play that amount by hand from time to time, it is very suspicious when you see it everyday.
ive never been banned nor suspended, then again i only use HB/GB when i need to and not for looong hours like alot of ppl do
email from blizzard today saying that i have had my account closed, did not have any warning about this and am soooo fucked off, as i have only been using the bot for less than a week, and have had sooo much time put into my characters the legit way of playing :S.... ZzZzZzZzz..... just to be clear, "your account has been closed" means permaban??
