2-3 hours? I'm going on 16+ hour downtime now. Any word when things will be usable again?

The addition of FPs are amazing, I can't wait to use it once the DDoS is over. The downtime isn't your fault, and it isn't swaying my decision to use HB. :)

Seriously? A DDoS attack is making people angry? Its not as if HB staff posts advertisements saying "DDoS attack us PLEASE!" This is something that happens. People need to learn to deal with it. google was shut down before from a DDoS attack. Did you people stop using Google?

You guys have SYN cookies enabled? I only ask because I've mitigated massive DDoS attacks with them in the past and they tend to be overlooked by admins. It also has zero negative impact on legit SYN packets. Either way good luck with the attack and keep up the hard work!

Maybe only a certain IP range is affected? idk

Last night I was having the issue, but every time I would just erase my user/pass and retype it, it let me in. Was strange.

It's not geographical. I can access auth from work but not at home (wish it was the other way around). I can vpn into work though.. hmm tempting.

Let me clear this up. I'm not angry that HB is down from a DDoS attack. In almost a year of using HB, this is the first time I have ever been affected by downtime, other than the obvious patch situations. I'm not angry about it at all. Just wondering if there was any status or any ETA when things will be back to normal. I realize it's impossible to tell when a DDoS attack will be over, but are the admins doing anything to mitigate the attack, and if so - how long will it take?

I'm pretty sure nesox has made it clear they are trying to mitigate the attack and are working with the ISP for a possible resolution.

Actually Ski made a post in Announcements stating that they were working with the ISP for a possible solution. That doesn't answer my question about any ETA on a fix..

Probablly because you get disconnected or something, trim down the log and post it or report it on the bugtracker

I was bored, so I decided to see if there was a difference network wise between my home connection and work. Found that my work actually uses the same backbone my home does (roadrunner)... and my packets are being dropped at the last hop at home (188.93.10.125) while my work connection completes a traceroute. This would indicate some collateral damage from blocking IP ranges in my opinion.

Was using mordd's on 1.9.5.3. the bug happened on 1.9.5.2, 1.9.5.1, and 1.9.5.0 with default and mordd, as well as different class and different computer. if yuo need me to, i'll try it with default in order to reproduce the bug later on, but it's very innefficient to use default for grinding wool due to the bot using every since special ability except judge, causing it to oom and sit there til its mana goes up on its own. buying water is not an option since it shouldnt be needed; all i have to do is melee with seal of command and 1-3 mobs instantly die.

long story short: i'll edit this post later on with confirmation that default has the bug too.

edit: yup. default has the 'do nothing' bug still in 1.9.5.3. has a gnoll behind my toon about 6 yards away targeted, but makes no effort to initiate combat/move towards it. bot is also full mana/hp. This is with a 3 hotspot profile that I know works. nesox said in the 1.9.5.2 thread that it probably has something to do with instant kills and something not being set/cleared because of that.

attached my profiles and logs. bug happens at 12:59:33 with mordd's cc and 4:27:15 with default cc.
also Wool wetlands2.xml is the same as Wool wetlands 3 hotspots.xml

Back to using 1.9.4.5 again since it doesnt have the do nothing bug.

Aye. I went to do it, but problems Ive noticed so far are already listed on the bug tracker. One is being looked into (the stop to attack mob every single time i get aggro) and other has been confirmed, but not fixed yet.
