if you have a static ip just get an account at www.your-freedom.net or something similar and redirect your gatherbuddy/honorbuddy traffic through the proxy, that solves it.. at least while your ip is blacklisted

if you'r on a cable connection you might need to wait a bit more to get a new ip

This might help for some people. I play through a router b/c both me and my roomate play wow. A solution i tried is plugging the cable modem directly into my computer bypassing the router. The router has an IP assigned to it that it gets from your ISP by using its MAC address. So when you plug directly into computer it uses your PCS MAC address and should giff you a diff IP if youre dynamic. (It seems my IP was banned during the ddos attacks - maybe cause I was trying to login at same time).

Well this was fine for me but not good enough cause both me and roomate wanted to play, so what I did was replugged into router, accessed router admin, (mine is 168.162.0.1 for dlink), and reset up your internet with DHCP, and CLONE your PC MAC address(important). For me it then used a different IP then was assigned to router before.

And I spent over an hour trying to release/renew ips through IPCONFIG and even on the router status page before this with no luck.

So maybe a little hope for those of you who got banned through a router MAC - IP.
      Playing now no issues

(BAH person above me posted as i was writing this so I did not see it, now I look dumb) :p

Same here. I'm pretty sure it's the same for everyone. Your IP is linked to the Acct/Pass which is linked to the Forums (I assume), and your IP is blocking the connection to that specific account.

      I'm getting same thing :(

      Good information from the poster

I was unable to get my IP to reset through my modem and router, it just kept giving me the same one back with releases and renews.

But did what someone else mentioned, and loaded my Works VPN client and was then able to authenticate with no issue, and am now running my bot.

      Thanks

Those of you with Comcast or other lease-type IPs: Clone the MAC address of your router, release/renew and presto. Reboot both the modem and router normally after this is done, and you should be good to go.

I can confirm this. Thanks to all above who said the same thing. Make sure you do as he says and power cycle modem and router after you clone the mac.

Most of you Comcast and high-speed cable users are likely behind a D-link router; you may find your mac address clone option a bit hidden. On most dlinks, it's under the Internet > manual configure section on the very first page after login.
