      DELETE, This thread. Sorry Misinformation.

Im just throwing this out there, but since we all have to use the 32 bit wow to launch wow, i'll bet 90% of the bots didn't get the update that patched the other day, this update is small, but its updating all the files (14000 files or so in wow) perhaps there might have been a wave but only to the people who updated there wow by using the wow launcher. ( Which if you run your bots like I do *using 32bit wow.exe* you didn't know there was a patch - I only knew about it because wife plays)

So if there is a wave we will find out today because everyone who has not updated there wow will be booted from the servers and will not be able to play until the launcher has updated there wow.

I'm not trying to spread panic just a theory of why there might have been a string of bans. Possible detection for anyone who updated ?? maybe??

If something changed - honorbuddy's protection would have tripped im sure of it.

Updates are generally hotfixes to bug's in the game, not always updates to detect bots. Besides it's HIGHLY illegal for blizzard to scan your computer and collect personal information, look at the hackers that hit the headlines for collection information and face years imprisonment for it.

      Deleted

Reason: misinformation about patch and HB working after patch.

I've logged on post-patch to my accounts, still fine. HB doesn't work though.

Lol go away. Its a update to the tool. Scaremonger more.

I have quest botted straight for 3 days, and have ran the bot while waiting for and talking to a GM about some accounts I had banned. HB is fine, stop farming for more then 8 hours at a time and you will be fine. People run the same profile as 30 other people of leave GB2 running for days because they are greedy, then run here and start making stupid theories as to why they were banned. Greed banned you and using the same profile as 30 other people. Nothing else.

I did not know that HB does not work after wow had been patched that kinda throws a wrench in the theory :)

I have only been banned twice Glider days and when Buddy first came out. I have several wow accounts I never gather for more then 3 hours. Quest 6/8 hrs.
I didn't get banned and i'm not trying to scare anyone. I was simply trying to link the multiple bans that everyone is reporting to the possibility of the patch that came out, which icycool has stated you cant use HB after that patch. So my theory is null.

There is a difference between trying to help and trying to be a dick.

EU servers are officially patched as well

and no, the theory wouldn't hold ground for those that get on wow. afk when they sleep. get right back after waking up/coming back from work.
the launcher or process does not force update until you restarted it
i know a couple people that never restart anything, even their computers, for years at a time.

That would get a whole lot of innocent people banned if that was the case.

so... blizz logs accounts, logs infractions, log flags, waits till monday morning to activate bans. BAM, you wake up in the morning, see your banned, report on the forums. lets say 1/10 of the bans are reported on the forums. 50 accounts are reported on the forums, so lets say 500 hb users are estimated banned, add in the others banned for selling/buying, they are banned for speed hax, other bots, stupid stuff.

we get screamed at 'ITS NOT A BANWAVE NOOB' well then, what is the exact terminology for when blizz waits for a specific time to activate bans for multiple people on the same day, across multiple servers?

It would really only count if Honorbuddy.exe got detected (highly highly nearly infinitely unlikely) and thousands of botters got hit by it.
Small ripples like Blizz has been doing pretty steadily do not count since it's such a small percentage of the botter numbers.
