I don't see what the big hype is with this game. It doesn't seem like "OMG I HAVE TO GET THIS GAME" type. Everyone else I have talked to said "it's ok, nothing special"
I just read 10 of those 1 star reviews, and not one of them has to do with the game itself. People bitching about the cost (poor people), people bitching about needing internet (honestly, if your gaming machine doesn't already have internet 24/7 you're retarded), one guy who can't install it because he's a moron, a few that haven't received it yet. I haven't seen one negative review about the game itself. Most of these people are just idiots that didn't read anything about it before they bought it.
The negatives are as follows according to SC1 fans 59.99 for 1 campain. Despite the fact its a long campain. No LAN Required to sign into B.net to hold your achievments. And my response is: The game is very long with played on hard or better. I dont give a damn about LAN. I havent been to a LAN party in 10 years. To play WoW I need to be signed in, so who cares.
Also, you can still LAN as long as you have/had an internet connection to log in (the same as Steam, which everyone sackrides [myself included]). If your lan doesn't have internet, or you didn't bother to hook and up, it makes you a douchebag.
True, true, and really now that I think about it, the only 64 bit driver issue I can think of is when I tried to use my xbox and ps3 controller on my desktop.... All my other driver issues really have been with Optimus, and man do I hate that program.
I laughed out loud when i read this.. I think the only thing missing is a chat room in Bnet - but from what i have read its coming in patches to follow! Anyone else having trouble with the matchmaking ? trying to 2v2 premade and its a bitch to find a game... Of course with all new games there are always bugs that need to be ironed out, hopfully sooner then later...
this was the man reason im not going to get it, me and all my friends used to do lan parties all the time. I know you can if you have the internet, you can all play togather, but there's still friends of mine that use dileup (thats all they can get) so going over and having a lan party there isan't a option. Or if the internet quits, we cant 'lan' up, I also dont want to have to worry about any latency issues there might be. I played the beta - for as long as it took to develop, imo, they failed.
ahhhh screw 32 bit systems ! good thing i got my 100 bucks back.. shame it was such a good deal 104.99 with tax for 4gbs desktop memory
got my copy last night and got in a few games before raid. but we were missing to many people to actually raid.
Thinking about getting it, but here in about a week i can get an alienware comp if i dont give in and get sc2, hmmmm the choices....
Who the hell wants to play SC1 when SC2 is out ??? Lets move out of the 90's ... Time to shave that mullet, and lose the jean jacket!
Gotta love the internet <3, at Blizzards website 60 EUR for the game, but because the internet is so awesome I got it for 38 EUR , and yes SC2 is awesome
Still playing Red Alert 2, completely owns any RTS I've played since... Though I haven't played SC2 (yet!)
Thought I'd chime in, I got 3 of these as gifts from friends in my town. So I'm usin the one, but I got 2 I'm willing to part with I can send a Paypal payment request, just PM me. I'd say 45 USD would be fair, since I dont need em. Thanks to all who dont FLAME! me -Edit- Btw I would E-mail the key, or I could ship it, but it'd have to be US only then.
Don't take this as a flame but Buying/Selling/Trading is against the rules on the forums. On Topic; I loved SC1 and expected SC2 to be equally as awesome so I did not bother to read up or play the beta... sucks knowing I spent money to play as Terran only in the campaign.
