This weekend, two of my friends each got 72hr ban. One of them understandably, because he was botting around the clock with maybe 10% supervision for a month straight. Now, I feel lucky that I wasn't banned, because I have been farming full honor almost non-stop for 4 level 90 characters, one is fully upgraded as well.

But right now I'm leveling my warlock and I'm afraid to use the questbot, and eventually the BG bot. I mean, I don't mind leveling the last 12 levels myself. I haven't even used the bot on my warlock so far. It's the insane honor grind that you have to do at level 90, and most players have really good pvp gear now which means I'll be running around getting 2-shotted while I try to get my own gear.

Even if I where to bot for only 2-3 hours a day supervised, do you think there's an increased chance for me to get flagged since two friends which I interact with all the time in game was banned?

I have never been banned or suspended before and I've had the same account since TBC launch, so considered to just keep botting until I get a temp ban, but from what I've seen here it seems you can get permabanned right away

Botting is technically never safe. Be smart.

If you value your account don't bot. My friends and family all left WoW to play other games, and I was left alone with nothing to do... so I really got into botting, making FightThisWay, HotspotRecorder, FightHere, etc. Had fun making them, though FightThisWay took like 6 months to create.

Was using my family's unused WoW accounts during this time. When I was done making all the software, I was stilll botting but for no really good reason, so I started selling gold. Made $110 in two gold sales, then 3/5 banned, though only one account did the gold sale.

Bought 5 vanilla accounts in the WoW store. Thinking of just giving them away at the Christmas gift exchange now, I doubt my ability to keep them running without getting banned. I used private profiles and custom code all the way.

I can think of many, many ways WoW could instantly detect bots and ban them. It looks like they finally got a clue, too.
      1. Play 24/7 weeks on end.
      2. Stay stuck in the same place for more than a minute.
      3. Pick an underground herb.
      4. Fight the same monster all night long because he's evade glitched
      5. Search your computer memory for signs of HonorBuddy (renaming alone won't save you.)
      6. Search your hard drive for signs of HonorBuddy (again with the renaming not saving you.)
      7. Try to pick up a quest that's no longer available.
      8. Stand at a questgiver for hours trying to turn in a quest you haven't fulfilled the requirements for.
      9. Fight monsters without having any icons on your bars.
      10. Cast spells that aren't on your bars.
      11. Continue to move/interact in the game, though no keystrokes or mousepresses have been received.
      12. Track gold movements between characters, prioritizing level 1's and those on free or vanilla accounts.
      13. Play WoW even though the window isn't in the foreground.

And this is all I could think of in about 2 minutes. Recognize any of them? :p Blizzard has many more ideas, I am sure.

Now - I'm looking for game that is as fun to play, as WoW was fun to bot.

I doubt more than 10% of those people have 3 or more accounts... and maybe 40% have more than 1 account. Logically, the 'average' person is always the cheapest option.

You're joking right? There is alot, i mean alot more "known" bots out there who have almost the same amount of people as honorbuddy does, It's people here who have over 100 accounts, people also use seperate herb/mining or fishing bots instead of honorbuddy. And you know that there is *****ed versions of Honorbuddy getting updated all the time? atleast 60 out of 70 of the people i know, uses the *****ed one, just because it's free.
Just because the "math" says something on some random "statistics you just made up, don't mean their right, Go wider and you'll see, there is alot of bots out there. Just saying.

lol, didnt think people would take me litteraly there oO
i threw in a % figure to prove a point... but if you go in to any random bg or any random zone and check out the farmers, on any random server... you just might see that theres ALLOT of botters out there.

and for those cheapscates out there that think that having multiple accounts is something allmost noone does... wake up.

i had 12+ accounts running when i was farming gold / selling, everyone i know or knew had atleast 8+, hell some where around 50+

      thats allot of subs.

Questbot should be safe, as long as you dont leave it for 8+ hours and it goes and stuck itself looking funny. Bot with common sense - dont get banned.
