I was kind of surprised as to why I would of got banned on my new account that I only purchased from store yesterday, here's why I'm surprised...

Botting for 3 years on around 10 accounts
Used every profile type possible for more than 48 hours straight on many occasions but at least 12 hours a day on a couple of them.
      Sold many accounts.
      Power levelled many accounts.
Sold MILLIONS of gold, by face to face, guild bank transfers etc.
Listed 1000 items at one time on AH a fair few times.
Told blizzard I bought my account off Ebay once.

Guess what? NEVER had a ban.

Bought a new account yesterday from blizzard store (just the battlechest) Used it for maybe 6 hours with only Kicks questing profile....BANNED! 72 HOURS!

Yes, I'm confused. It was on a realm that I had not been on before, but now sure how much of an impact a different realm has to being found botting, Email below.

I didn't think it was much of a secret that blizzard watched brand new accounts more. Doesn't mean they will always get caught but time is a wonderful thing.

Two things, first off did you use a *****? And second blizz can track your CPU ID, after alot of banns happen on your computer get a new computer or trash the CPU and buy a new one. If they see the same CPU id as a few accounts that have been previously banned they have good reasons to ban you on the spot

So I tried to appeal the suspension by telling a story of how I am a brand new player to the game that downloaded a questing addon, and that I am sure it was not 3rd party programme so why was I suspended for using it etc. They wouldn't have none of it and did not accept my appeal

      Code:
      Greetings,

      World of Warcraft Account:

In reply to your enquiry about the above account, we have reviewed your case and can confirm that the evidence presented was correct, and that the subsequent action taken was appropriate.

This was not for using ******, that addon is fine. This was for using third party software that automates character control, commonly known as a "Bot".

Please note that if our Terms of Use are violated appropriate action is taken on the account, regardless of who was using it at the time, as account security and access is the responsibility of the owner.

As such, our decision in this matter stands, and will not be overturned. We appreciate this can be frustrating, but the decision is final.

      did someone report you?

that could have been the reason for the 72 hour no actual proof

The 1 thing that catches my attention is you are on a new realm. Many, many realms (plus your new CRZ group) have "bot police." These dweebs bot themselves, so they know what to look for. Once they spot you, they report you on all their accounts. Best thing you can do is delete that toon (cause he now on their friends list) and start fresh at a difference time of day. Hopefully you can get your fellow botters reporting you.

Guys even if it was that bot police, how you call it, I doubt Blizz would take any action as fast as 6 hours after starting the bot (read: being reported). I mean, I bot a lot, like 6 accounts online at all times, each account works at least 8 hours a day. God alone knows how many reports I have taken so far and yet I am still going strong. That is why I highly doubt it's the reports. Ofc we can never know but still, something does not seem right there.

It's because it's a new account. So many people are loading up during the sale just to bot on them, so they are no doubt checking them. Also I wouldn't be surprised if it took less reports on a brand new account vs an established one.

      Consider this example:

Older account: 4 toons all 85 - 90. They do BG's, arena, LFR & LFG. The chance of ordinary people being reported because someone in the party/group doesn't like them? Reasonably high. So Blizzard would have to ignore a certain amount of reporting noise. And due to them ignoring a certain amount of reporting noise, safe botters slip through the gaps because this forum doesn't seem to like c r a c k s lol.

Brand new $5 account: 1 toon level 15 - 20. Just questing in friendly zones, most real players in that group should have zero reports. If you get 2 reports because you got stuck and did the super obvious "I'M BOTTING" unstuck move that HB does, you could have been reported. Because it's a new account and the focus is on them already, GM checks it and gives you a 72 hour suspension.

Now I don't work for Blizzard and have no knowledge of their actual practices, but it sounds logical to me.

I have not been botting for as long as many people but i do know one thing is for certain, I will not power level a new toon in a week, to me that just seems a bit too obvious... I take my time and mainly focus on my two main toons and bot occasionally on my lower level toons to level them. I may play about 3-4 hours a day and more on the weekends but i keep it to where i would not be noticed in an obvious manner. If I were to power level a toon or two from 1-90 real fast, I think i made myself pretty obvious. I also stay by my pc and answer whispers and G-Chat conversations which make it less obvious that your are botting. my thing is that if you bot and bot for hours on end and get busted, stop being so damn shocked, its a risk we all take for botting, even if it is for just 6 hours. i know some of Kicks profiles get stuck running into walls which is why i stay near the pc keeping an eye on it, BGBuddy sticks out like a sore thumb on certain BG's like AV and Isle of Conquest, all the bots follow each other like a bunch of idiots, Gatherbuddy if you leave it running all night is a HUGE Target in my opinion because what human being in there right mind just does that all night long? I think Blizzard looks at patterns along with reports, so if you stick out like sore thumb, do not be shocked. By far HB is a huge target because they are so damn good at what they do and how typically difficult it is to catch unless you have a pattern that just looks obvious. just saying... lol

I started up some new accounts via Blizz store in the sale logged them on and set them off no problems, So I guess you were dam unlucky someone reported you and the GM happened to be there at the right time. But who knows it is all speculation at the end of the day.
