How to use honorbuddy? I mean how often should i use it and for how much time not to get banned? I wanna make much gold with gathering, but i'm afraid of getting perma banned and not just 72 hours of suspension. Do i even get a ban if im not reported, do they have auto-ban methods, and how do they work? Share me your solutions and using habits
I took it really easy when I bought my copy a few weeks ago. Meaning heavy monitoring of it etc just to get a feel for how it runs, how smooth it looks and if people msg me randomly or if I get stuck. You just need to get a feel for your play style and the times you would normally be on and bot then imo. Also I tested plugins, TeamViewer and combat routines. I still run my bot monitored probably 40-50% while I read, browse on here or check out fantasy football shit. All my botting has been leveling, no bg botting or gathering yet so obviously it will be different for you.
BG is safe imo, people were talking about reporting bg botters (buy reporting them AFK) i lol'ed pretty had.
For gathering: make your own profiles. Make sure it has routes big enough so you dont show up at the same place every like 5 minutes. Get HBRelog. Rotate your profiles every hour or so, dont stay in one area too long. Maybe make two or three farming toons on that account, switch betweem them and farm different stuff. Put in a break every few hours for an hour. Let your toons sleep for some hours every night (best thing is to just shut down your PC when you go to bed, bots don't get banned for 24/7 running and you cut your electricity bill ;-))
In your profiles make sure you add Chance(xx) timers every x amount of rotations through. Makes you seem more realistic also.
Grinding and BG are the two best ways to get a ban imo. Blizz is not going to catch you botting 95% of the time. Your actions or other players is what get you banned if people see your bot in the same spot for 8 hours, you might get a report, in BG if you stand back and look you can pick out the bots, they move like a flock of birds. Questing is pretty darn safe, minus if you get stuck running in a corner which does not happen often. I bot but only for the amount a of time a normal person would do it. I farm my mats and sell them on the AH but I'm not putting up 1000 auctions a day. When it comes down to it, no form of botting is 100% safe, there is always a risk. Just do it smart and you should be fine.
What Nem said. I run my bot pretty often, but i rarely run it, when im away from my computer. I almost never run it, at nights. I do run BGbuddy, Grindbot, questing bot and Gatherbot most of the time. There is always a Risk. I just normally keep an eye on them. I got 2-3 different toons for gathering, on 2 accounts. Switch from time to time. Dont run HB2 16Hours a day. I got a question tho. I got 2accounts on the same battlenet. If i get banned on 1 of them, will it also ban the other account?
i love how people think that if they bot for a small time period, they can't get banned xD... *giggle* anyways, safest way not to get banned? DON'T BOT..
Well... I'm using my bot to Quest with and that works fine. I'm always playing another game while i'm botting and sometimes I check if my bot is stuck or something. I've only botted for around 2-3 weeks but it works fine for me
Lets see i got the bot about 3 mabey 4 days ago after hearing from a friend about it (was using cybot at the time) and at the moment i have been using Kick's 1-90 with my mage being lvl 51 right now, could have been higher but random D/C without a reloger which i just dont trust ever. plan on making a warrior and possibly a shaman and priest with intentions on professions and pvp. With the new 5.1 patch out and using the beta HB for the day it has had some minor imperfections i figured could be waited through but seems to be running fine now gona let it quest through the night and should be in outlands by morning. P.S. Ding
In a sense it does factor in, the idea of safe botting is to not get tagged or reported, botting in small doses in secluded or less populated areas will increase your chances for a successful session. ^
I was running my bot yesterday whilt I was at work. Had just hit 70 so was waiting at SW Harbor to move to WotLK profile (Kicks) and I checked out my website's Buddycon and It had picked up to /say messages to me. "Mate, you need to move left to get on the boat" and "Dude, use the damn stairs" Turns out I was just running into the side of the boat literally a few pixels short of moving up the stairs. I quickly logged into my Teamview and corrected it. Sent a /w to the guy and said "sorry mate, keyboard ran out of batteries and had auto run on" he replied "LOL" Made me chuckle, you know, in a nervous, OMG THAT WAS CLOSE kind of way.
Maybe reviving a dead post, but here is my experience. Friend and I co-invested in 3 keys, picked up a second account, transferred off a druid for mining/herbing and went to town. 4 days 1-80 questbotting 4-8hrs 90% monitored, with BoA gear. Spent the next 4 months just farming herbs and nodes. Not quite as profitable as expected because AH is always saturated so ended up finding a few dedicated buyers for about 10% less than AH, but means stuff always sold. Friend was also using prospecting to shuffle on his main. Eventually I let him take over the 2nd account because I was bored and fishing was making more money with fish feasts on my main. He got the account banned in 2 weeks for botting 12-20hrs per day, probably 50% monitored. He also got another friend's account banned for 1 year for doing the same thing. When he tried to fight it they replied with something along the lines of, "you went to the EXACT same spot 12000 times. kthxbai". tl:dr--I've been using HB since ICC and have never gotten banned. I received a 3-day "suspension" for manipulating the market when I got bored one week and mined the crap out of everything. I've questbotted 8 characters from 1-85 and am currently questbotting 85-90 on them. I would like to think that the reason I don't get banned is that I have a pretty tight LogMeOut setup with sensitive settings, meaning stuck/inactive more than 2mins = logout, players following more than 3mins = logout, stuck more than 5x = logout. To the guy who has leveled in BGs and thinks questbotting is the key to getting caught: I doubt it. As people have said, BG bots are easily noticed, especially with everyone using the same profile. Questbotting seems to be the least obvious, especially if you're monitoring enough to respond to whispers/guildmates. I just tell guildies that I shut off chat or that a friend is on my account and they're shy. A couple know that I bot, but they never know when because I monitor it so much. If you're really worried get an addon like rarekiller that makes an annoyingly loud noise every time you get a whisper. Going strong since ICC with HB (yay lifetime membership!) and not regretting a moment of it. But I also don't make 15k/day.
I wouldn't say BG, if the script is good running AV is pretty hard to get caught with 50+ people but grinding yes, no one does that. The questing bot is really good, just find something else you need to do and kind of check your bot every now and then and you should be fine.
I have no idea what any of these people worry about when they first buy the bot.. all they have to do is watch it for a few days to see how it screws up and where like corners for example an then you get used to it, btw back in cata i used to mine and herb uldum for 4 days straight... and then smelt all in one day and put it all up on the auction house didn't get banned once, but since ghost iron isnt going for much on my server i don't really farm that much the only thing that im becoming more aware of is that so much people bot bgs as well now and you can definently tell because like someone said before you move like a flock of birds, if this happens when you monitor your bot just control it for a little while because if blizzard are watching then at least it will look like your not with them because your doing something different.
Did write a long post--rewrote for ease of reading: in WotLK if I was lazy I'd make only 2k/day. If I needed a lot of money for something I'd make 10-15k/day (rough estimates, 15k on best day). In MoP I can make ~1.5-2k/hr with pickpocketing in Townlong. I've only tested this for ~30mins at a time, but the results are always 700-900g not counting greens for ah/vendor. I think the reason this works is that there is rarely competition on my server (or in whatever crossrealm I get into) so it makes it easy to clear an entire camp and start over. Also, I've never run with completely empty bags and ~30mins bag space diminishes because of boxes. I imagine this is probably the most profitable I've ever been outside random BoEs, and it doesn't drive me mad to do it for 30 minutes at a time.
