Small Collection of articles/videos I can't remember who asked me for some articles regarding bot detection as I did a cleanup in my inbox. Theese are some interesting articles one should read to get a grip about how complex bot detection can be. (Though Blizz might not implemented anything like this, or they have something similar we will never know, THEESE ARE "ONLY" CONCEPTS and I wanted to share some of them to people who are intrested in reading up on stuff like this ) The Ones that Got Away: False Negative Estimation Based Approaches for Gold Farmer Detection - Atanu Roy Bot detection in rhythm games: a physiological approach - Ruei-Min Lin Battle of Botcraft: fighting bots in online games with human observational proofs - Steven Gianvecchio Preventing bots from playing online games - Philippe Golle Keeping bots out of online games - Philippe Golle Server-Side Bot Detection in Massively Multiplayer Online Games - Stefan Mitterhofer The Study of Bot Technology for Online Games - Chun Wu Complex Motion Behavior for Game Playing Robots Case Study: Nine Robot's Mill - Mahmoud Shaker Identifying MMORPG bots: a traffic analysis approach - Kuan Chen Detection of MMORPG bots based on behavior analysis - Ruck Thawonmas Artificial neural network for bot detection system in MMOGs - Kusno Prasetya And ofc a book on how exploiting game can be done (so people can a feeling about what HB has to go through) Exploiting online games - Greg Hoglund (Have not read this one yet & alot is probably outdated) Exploiting Software: How to Break Code - Greg Hoglund (Not gaming specific, Have not read this one yet) I'm not linking to any articles directly because you either have to buy them or find (some of) them at the authors website for free. Now read them and appreciate what Honorbuddy has to counter and stop nagging them. Thanks and have a good day! P.S Some of these articles are pretty old and some are somewhat new, so dont take them for beeing state of the art, and they can be somewhat technical to read. ALSO, please refrain from saying stuff like "Oh, HB should do this because I read this in the article x", they have probably already read alot of them if not all, and they know what they are doing And to mods, if this is inappropriate I'm sorry and pls delete the thread
Another resource for the technically minded: also might want to check out Ownedcore forums.
