I was waiting to hear what the new excuse for keeping HB running was gonna be, i gotta say, this excuse is probably pretty good and will sit well with a lot of fanboy customers.
However, i hope people realise how incredibly stupid it is to say "We do not know what caused the banwave" yet "We are confident tripwire would have caught it".

Tripwire has proven useless so far, every single time it actually triggers you call it a false positive, and yet people still get banned, surely one must assume that the shit doesnt work, why would any have any faith in you saying itll work now? Of course it wont.

Ill wait and listen in on the next excuse about 6-7 months from now!

 

We now plan for the service to run for a while with these checks configured correctly
and see what it shows. In the meantime we will update you when we are ready to re-open
auth and to do a test release.

is there any idea how long is run for a while and will it take days or weeks to get a test release? im sry

So whats the excuse for opening auth for you to figure out if it works? I understand that Tripwire only works when you have many customers online to catch warden modules over a certain period of time, why announce it here publicly instead of running several hundred in-house accounts to protect your customers?

Lets say that your tripwire actually dont work, and you open the "unsafe" release and nothing happens, the result is gonna be another banwave, because no bots to report warden info to tripwire = useless tripwire = useless test.

So we are now to be lab rats?

Hater? I kind of agree with him. The guys here are going to want to keep this train rolling as long as they can for every penny they can squeeze out. Any excuses or story that helps them do that will be told.

I am actually more surprised at the fact of how many guys are saying its fine, and better luck next time. There is a difference between knowing full well botting is a risk to get banned, versus this...

 

I appreciate the update and I also appreciate the honesty, mistakes are mistakes, we learn from them and move on. If your end feels like that error was the cause, and its fixable, thats great. I bought 3 more cheap blizz accounts and just await the auth servers return. At no point should any of us take the victim's point of view here but blizz can keep doing what they do, I have gained much more than I have lost thus far. =]

 

Wow, but the honesty is fine. We're not perma banned so i'm ok. I'll just start back up on another account and make adjustments. This explains how my one account missed the ban wave when i used HB once shorty after the ban lifted.

 

Are other bot bases "secure"? While I'm waiting on this 18-month suspension I'd like to use other bot bases for games I play.
