About the event...
It is clear to say that Honorbuddy has been detected for last 2 to 3 weeks which bypassed the tripwire system. For now, we have no information until we do deep investigations of what caused the banwave. We will try to share more information as soon as we get results from our investigations.

Meanwhile, we kindly request you folks to report your bans on the bans section forum to give us a better view.

For discussion please use the following thread. It will remain open during the downtime.

Can Tripwire be disabled?
Yes, although it is a very bad idea, Bossland GmbH allows users to disable Tripwire on a per-key basis.

[div=color:Black;background-color:#ffff99;width:80%]Disabling Tripwire is potentially dangerous and leaves your account vulnerable. We recommend you do NOT disable Tripwire unless you are fully aware of what you are doing. For more information about Tripwire, see our Wiki article on it.[/div]

For those that don't care about losing (even more) accounts, you can find out how to disable Tripwire here:

We have added an option to buddy auth portal to disable tripwire checks for each key. If you would like to continue botting despite of the risks, you can do so from the following link.

Investigation is still ongoing and we do not have much to share publicly. However, here is what we have gathered so far about this banwave:

• It is the first banwave for a long time that does not target Honorbuddy specially. That means almost all WoW bots/hacks got hit with it. Detections in recent banwaves were all targeted at HB only.
• The reason for that might be their detection being something generic and not being able to filter out Honorbuddy or change of their business plans.
• Blizzard had to change their methods for detection after tripwire caught their last 2 to 3 attempts successfully.
• There are rumors of even passive tools being detected. If that can be confirmed it means that Blizzard took a really aggressive route for detection this time.

We will be keeping you folks in loop.

We have some theories as to how the last banwave took place and practical ideas how to prevent it being done again.
There have been improvements made to tripwire but we cannot be sure that this will help in the future. Unfortunately,
we cannot share any information at this point.

Today we are adding the lost time to all keys and re-opening our auth. Now more than ever we advise caution in botting -
do not have the bot running at the same time as an account you care about is also logged in on your machine.

All software changes will be done server side so no new release is needed.

Be careful out there!
