Hey guys, posting here since I'm not exactly sure if this is more a CR issue or a DB issue, but I'm experiencing problems with healer in my 5-man RAF team. The resto shammy seems to completely ignore the tank with direct spells, only using instants like Riptide and Earth Shield, but in high damage spikes it let's the tank die. The most peculiar thing is that after that he starts healing the rest of the group like crazy. In the log attached, the fight goes wrong at around 19:54:38, where the palading starts dropping on health and the only activity I can see from the shaman is Healing wave which is even cancelled before the cast finished. The tank dies at 19:54:45. Another death occurs at 19:52:10, pally's health drops but no heal is coming from the shammy. Tank died at 19:52:14, the rest of the group is healed just fine until the tank is battlerez'd. In Singular settings I've disabled movement and targeting, I also tried disabling healer DPS, but that doesn't help either. The rest is left to pretty much default settings. And just for the record, both framerate and latency are not an issue if needed. Thanks. Edit: One thing I just noticed - when the tank is not on full health, the shaman won't even do DPS. It's just standing there doing neither healing tank nor DPSing mobs. It would heal other group members though.
completely restart your pc. and make sure your spec is set correctly, as well as your dungeonbuddy and singular settings.
Thanks, CNG. Bumping the framelock rate from 10 to 20 seems to have helped a bit. The dungeon difficulty the team is currently running is not high, so I'll report more proper results when they reach Cata instances. I've always been running toons with framelock 10 and never had any issues, so I'd be surprised if this would be the final solution for my shammy.
OK guys, so I made my due dilligence and dug through the code to see what it does and narrowed the problem to line 633 in Restoration.cs: Code: CreateRestoShamanBuffTidalWaves(), Commenting out this line makes the shaman seem to start healing much faster and more intensively. My amateur assumption says there's some clash within the detection on when the Tidal Waves is needed and Riptide can actually be cast, making the shaman doing nothing, possibly waiting for the Riptide cooldown to come up. Also the tank prioritization might play unexpected role in this. That would explain why I could see the casts being targeted at tank in rare cases, but nothing being done most of the time (because of Riptide being on cooldown). --junk
