The hubby and I were doing some 100% supervised questing bot stuff (he more than I yesterday) cause he deemed it our WoW day. We'd been on longer than usual but no Gatherbuddy style farming or anything. Anyhoo, try to make a long story short ... joined a different guild on an alt to get rep to buy the Dark Phoenix mount since I can't actually raid. Hubby decides to do the same thing (though oddly his guild rep was exalted when he joined the guild .. glitch?) and got the mount and the pets as well. Within like I dunno 30 minutes to an hour of that maybe less ... he got the boot and a mail saying 24 hour suspension for Unauthorized Account Access Policy Violation. Right before this I had gotten on my monk to invite him back to our own guild we've been running for shoot ... almost 8 years (yeah we've been playing a damn long time) and I went afk and had to run to the store. Apparently thats when he got the suspension, and he texted me as I was coming back from the store that a GM had popped up a window on my screen, and he didn't answer them just turned off WoW. That probably didn't send any decent messages there, but they are saying we were involved with compromised accounts or something to that effect. Won't actually tell us what we did out right. Anyone seen this or know what in the world could have triggered that? The weirdest thing I did was I gifted a friend 10k gold a few days ago to buy a mount (and I haven't bought gold or done some crazy farming to get the gold I've gotten I just mainly use Lazyraider and if I gather I only do like an hour at a time max).

OH I normally play WoW on a bootcamp partition so I can use HB of course, and I had switched to my Mac side to check some stuff and thats when I got on to invite my hubby to our guild. I appealed to them being honest cause I truly have NO clue what that Unauthorized Account Access Policy Violation would mean when I haven't sold gold, offered to sell gold, bought gold or messed with any other accounts this is my only one (yeah I know don't bot on your main if you dont wanna lose it but I'm tired of playing by hand I just enjoy the stress relief). Just odd and wanted to see if anyone had any clue? The suspension is up this evening, and we thought maybe cause we've been on the game so long they were giving us a slap on the wrist even though they know we both bot on occasion? Pfft who knows I just hate not knowing or the "beat around the bush" style answers :-\ I would think if they were suspending us that they'd say 3rd party program or exploitation so thats why I'm perplexed.

Thanks for any ideas and I apologize for the wall o' text.

It doesn't sound like it was for botting at all. It sounds like Blizzard thought your account was hacked, or you were sharing your accounts.

It very well may had to do with the 10k gift you where so benevolently bestowing on your friend. If they where dealing with a hacked account for the mount, that could be the reason. I generally don't respond to unsolicited GM whispers. If I don't contact them, they don't need to be contacting me. If your banned for botting, you know it. They have no problem accusing you of using 3rd party software (That's what it will be classified as). Generally, compromised accounts are people selling mounts, or PvP raitings, or game time, that kind of thing.
I know, kinda not really useful, but I can guarantee the bad wasn't because of botting.

Hopefully they aren't gonna keep an eagle eye on us for just switching guilds one day on some alts wowza. I appealed saying I had switched partitions and no one else was on my account, but yeah they didn't believe me or hon. Thank you for that insight though I didn't think about the sharing accounts since ... hell we're married so yeah we know our info lol.

Yeah good point. Though I dont know why my hubby would have been lumped in with that. My friend wasn't hacked/compromised either and he was buying it off the BMAH too .. I dunno just all around weird. If my friend got a suspension then I'll know thats it and I will have to apologize profusely lol.
