Hello people As the titel implies; My WoW- account got banned today. I assume that you, the reader, do not find any interest in reading about me whining and mourning so I?ll keep this short. I have used HB alot, but I have not abused the software for selfish reasons. I have, as recommended in the forum, used HB in (as I thought was) a responsible manner. Despite this, we are all affected by bad luck at some point. Last night I activated BGBuddy on my level 88 Mage, and when I woke up the next day I noticed that I have been permanently banned after 8 hours of botting battlegrounds. From personal experience, I would recommend people to use Kicks questing profiles for levling instead of farming battlegrounds. If you want to ask me something about this matter, please feel free to post a question or PM me. Nothing to be upset about, no regrets. New account on the way. ALL HAIL THE BUDDYBOT! Sincerely, Bengovic
I wish I was more active on the forums earlier, but one should not cry over spilled milk. I admit that I took the wrong descission, but what the heck, now I can enjoy boting a new and clean account! Thank you for enlightening me with this information!
So, you used HB responsibly, but went to sleep while botting in BG's and then got banned. That isn't responsible. Responsible is monitoring it, and when are calling you out as a bot, stopping it, and playing manually and responding. Then they let it go, and go back to botting.
So first you say that you have not quote "not abused the software for selfish reasons. I have, as recommended in the forum, used HB in a responsible manner." And then you say quote "8 hours of botting battlegrounds." Well ofc ur getting banned if you try to bot too much in BGs.
Thank you for the responce, On reflection, I believe you are correct. In one aspect, it can be concluded that this was unresponsible on my part. However, one must ask the question if there really is a "responsible" way to bot on. After all, it is against Blizzard rules to use third party programs whatsoever. However, you can reduce the risk of getting caught. EDIT: I have changed my first post to avoid confusion. Like you, the readers, have responded; It was a bad decision to activate BGBuddy overnight.
Isn't BG botting usually a 72 hour suspension? The perma bans I've seen related to BG botting usually were on accounts that were on final warning. Was this your first infraction?
If you play alot during the day and then turn your bot on to go to sleep, what do you think blizzard are going to think when they see you play say 20 hours each and every day?
I am using bot myself but I NEVER bot in BGs. Why? Because it pisses me off to see all those jerks boting BGs and practically destroy this part of WoW. I am a pvper and love to do sometimes BGs just for fun, but I can't any more as there is soooooo many bots inside of every BG. So yeah, sorry to say this, well deserved ban mate. I have never report any fellow boter tho, but I can imagine that many people do so. DO NOT BOT IN BG, PEOPLE NOTICED, THEY RAGE ABOUT IT, THEY ARE REPORTING ALL OF YOU. You can level your character by boting in a different way to not screw other players. Sorry if I am being a jerk by myself for this post but hopefully BGs will be playable again in some time. Now with changes to pvp gear from 5.2, I can see sooooo many bots in BGs for farming honors that I really see what is Blizzard trying to achieve. Clear at least some bots from BGs and as it was stated here in the forum zilion times, do not bot BGs, it's risky. Peace out. PS: sry for your loss buddy, nothing personal against you in my rant PSS: en is not my first language, hopefully you have get my point
Hello Infernity, Thank you for your reply. I?ve learned my lesson, and hopefully I?m no noob when it comes to botting anymore. Questing is the way to go for me now. /Ben
Hello Standza, Sorry for the late reply. I did appeal, but I got a message back from a GM claiming they got enough evidence to give me a perma ban. No worries though, got a new account with a warrior on 90. Going really well this time, after I learned my lesson! /B
Hey, just read your post - sorry for your loss. Id just like to say I think you took it like a man, and im happy to hear your back in the saddel and have learned from the ban. Cheer up man!
this is true but at the same time i have done this for 2 years now on my main and still nothing i think playing the account by hand alot and talking to ppl maks a huge def and a timer for how long someone has been online wouldnt work very well in just my guild alone i have noticed ppl being stuck online for days when thay are really not there u can go to there toons and there just standing there its some sorta server lag or something
In regards to Demise's response about responsibility I find it ironic you call it a bot and actually expect people to sit there and watch it for 8 hours. Yes checking in on it every other hour or so is great but me personally, I will let the bot do the work so i can get to more important things in life. This gentleman was kind enough to share his story with us so try and keep your negative comments of the forums.
