Hi! I'm new to botting, been a hardcore wow player for years but I haven't really played much or had time to for the last expac and I decided to pick this up and see what it can do for me. I'm not looking to become some Gold Tycoon or anything, just trying to replenish mats and make enough gold for the bigger mounts this expac, things like that. So I'm just botting like 8 hours a day maybe every other day so far with the exception of this last weekend when I was basically botting the entire thing trying to level up my account. Anywho I'm rambling.. My main question (hence the title of the thread) is how does a Ban / Suspension work? I have been reading a lot, I see things like account suspension / ban and IP suspension / ban. I've even read some stuff about MAC addresses being flagged or something. But how does it really work? I bot on my desktop atm but I started to bot on my laptop. My only worry is my family uses my laptop sometimes to play with me as well as friends that come over. Am I putting their accounts at risk? Or just my own? Should I not let them play on my computers anymore, or at my house for that matter? I've already settled with the fact that I'll probably get banned sometime so I went out and bought an account to bot on to try and prolong the inevitable. I can really care less about my account getting banned since I've been playing forever and have started over many times. I really just care about my friend's accounts and my bro's. I know they love the game as much as I do and I don't want them to get in trouble because of me. What steps should I take to keep them safe? Never give them anything from the bot maybe? No mats or gold or anything that had to do with him? Just keep it to myself? I dunno, it has just been making me pace a bit in my head making me worry too much about this I guess. On a side note: I think that HB is pretty awesome, I've actually had a few hours of entertainment watching my bot do its thing (like BGs and Dungeons, out dpsing people... getting lots of killing blows. Hilarious.)
