Perhaps I've a bit naive but has anyone noticed that it seems like most bans come during a sale of the expansions. The last ban I received was during a 2 day sale where you could get all the games for $35 and just yesterday I was banned again and wouldn't you know it they are having the same sale. Maybe it isn't so much about blizzard caring about the way we affect the WoW community but perhaps banning us is simply another way to make profit because I know that when I get banned I just buy a new account, wait for the storm to pass, and continue to bot my way to wealth. Anyone agree? Think I'll make a poll.
i was thinkin the same thing, ofcourse they want to sell they dont give a sh!t about community lol every ban hammer or wave or increase in bans they always have a promotion to sell more CDKEYS and earn more money and if its not like this then why dont they make discount on the sub price its always the same just the game codes are cheaper
The funny part is that it doesn't really bother me. If you pay attention you can always know when to stop botting. For example with 5.2 coming up I was going to stop botting this weekend until the patch released. They just got the jump on me. Now that I have actually thought about it the last ban I received was right before patch 5.1 during a sale, and now this ban right before patch 5.2 during a sale. Instead of fearing patches I should be fearing sales.
That is a good question. I guess I have never really trusted someone selling CD keys and definitely never wanted to bring attention to an account I'm going to bot on. Besides I suppose the way I look at it is its only $35 every 2-3 months or so.
I think it has to do with the new patch. And sales is when new patch come out. But that is only my opinion.
Theres not more bans these days than usual. You give blizzard too much credits. They catch you during a sale and so what? They did not catch me in 2 years!!?? Why do they make sales then? Oh wait yess they are throwibg out 5.2 soon.... Blizzard do not make sales for botters... They sales so we bring our friends. Im 100% sure they dont care if botters pay full price.. Open your eyes!
I've never been banned during a sell or a new major patch. I don't think the bans are the same across all servers. Even though there is much commonality, I am positive that European GMs have a little stricter set of rules compared to US server rules when it comes to banning botters. The written rules may be the same, but the attitude seems different. I've even noticed that the same server may change over time. One specific server where I've had a lot of experience is much more lax now about gold buying and selling than they were a few years ago. I bot a half a dozen different servers, and there is at least one server that I've learned to be extremely careful with. This is anecdotal, but in my experience it is safer to bot a low pop server. When I've been caught on a mid population server, in my experience, I think I was more likely to get banned. Perhaps the GM is not as busy on medium populated servers and is more likely to check minor complaints about botters.
maybe you should make friends with your bot... more NPH that way and sales make it more likely you'll jump back in asap. had their not been a sale, i'd probably just hold off till there was one.
I honestly would not be surprised if botters were not the majority of all new battlebox sales, period. Possibly new cat/panda sales too. Just how many genuine new customers are there left to attract in NA/EU, excluding the new markets (e.g. brazil)?
wish I knew this a couple weeks ago. Looks like I will become a hostage of the sale and buy everything again (just got banned.) Good fight 15 heirlooms. You will be missed.
Just wondering what do you say to paypal that gets them to give you the money back? I got scammed by MMOMimic before I moved to HB and I can't even get my money from them. By the way I find it absolutely disgusting that MMOMimic charges a subscription service for a hacked version of HonorBuddy.
The truth. That my account got banned.^^ Then blizzard have a few days (I belive 2 weeks, not sure) to answer what they usually don't do and then paypal sends the money back.
