Ok, first off, this account is 4 weeks old, i play it legit, own a guild on it, etc. I started botting on this account this week. i ONLY use it to bot herbs maybe 2 hours MAX per day (spread out, constant stopping and starting due to me going afk and wanting to supervise) I also run an AH bot 16 or so hours a day, that has not been touched at all (separate account, havnt used it in maybe 2 weeks~)

Well, i made this profile literally 15 mins before i was banned, i usually farmed in valley of the four winds(again, my own custom profiles) but i decided to try kun lai. I was going good for about 20mins, then my char started 'looping'. It was flying at a 45degree angle at even lengths (maybe 30-40 yards?) back and forth. I stopped the bot as fast as i could (i ran up n back maybe 5 times before i could alt tab to the right window) i was 50-50 with it being a GM doing it to me or it was my profile ****ing up. Didnt think it would be a GM as it was a 4 week old account, i play it regularly legit, talk, run a guild, etc. So i went afk after the looping for 5mins to feed my cat.

Come back, DC and PERM ban. No warning. I didnt get a chance to see if a GM had whispered me or appeared as i went afk as soon as i stopped the bot.

      Appealed and denied 6 times.

Is your AH bot on the same IP address / hardware ID?

If so, I strongly suspect they simply reacted to reports about your AH bot and when they finally got around to scanning for your IP / ID to follow-up on the reports they nailed the account that was using them.

If not ... then chalk this up to more notice that they are very actively responding to user reports now :/ This is definitely starting to worry alot of people.

They reply within the hour for banned accounts, yes.

No, my AH bot was used on a completely different PC on my wireless network. Never touched the computer my mage was banned on.

Sorry to hear about the ban.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be an sudden use GM physical activity on players before they ban them as some sort of detection method based on ingame pathing loops?

To me, it just looked like the bot was screwing up, like it was confused. Didn't think anything of it because being on a dead server farming at 1 am i didn't expect to even see another player. There were no nodes in the area it was looped, i was in kun lai up in the mountains, plenty of empty space that it was flying in, and somehow it looped itself.

Like i said before, i have NO idea how they caught me, surely not for nodes per hour, and i dont think it was from reports as there is never more than 5-10 people in a zone at a time on my server(if i did ever see anyone, i would send them an emote like /smile or /wave). No auctions up, nothing. Just deposited my herbs into my guild bank for milling later.

all computers on your router share the same public IP. blizz does not care what your private IP is.

think of it like your public IP, the one you get when you google 'whatismyip' is like your street address. and your private ip is individuals residing at that street address. my ISP claims when ip's are flagged, it flags the public ip, and the company must use MAC addresses to identify the nodes on the router. if they are interested.
