I am brand new to this and want to get into botting for the boring stuff i dont like to do in game. What can i do that is less likely to be caught at. Is questin out of the question or is it farming? and is it just honor buddy or is it all bots? Right now i am scared to do anything with it. Any advice?

Everything is risky, if you are so scared i don't think botting is for you. But if you are gonna do this bot smart and don't do it 24/7 and what ever you do, DO NOT use BGBuddy, thats like asking to get banned.

I think it's rather safe with questing assuming you monitor it so you don't get stuck at certain places. I've leveled two chars to level 85 the past few weeks and when I use the questing profile, I let it run for about 10 hours/day. Personally, I avoid BG's and Gathering (Ghost iron ore and Green tea leaf in Jade Forest/VotFW) just because people tend to get banned a lot by that atm. But I'm pretty sure that those who bot "smart" still use the gatherbot for these matters.

      So my personal preferences atm:
      + Kick's profiles for questing to 85
      + AutoAngler
      + Gatherbuddy in pre-MoP

      - BG-buddy
      - DungeonBuddy
      - Gathering in MoP
      - LazyRaider

In the end, it all depends on how many players that are in your zone that might report you for acting "bottish", but the BG-buddy and Gatherbuddy in VotFW are strictly controlled by GM's atm!

The mindset you need to adopt for botting is a lot like the midset soldiers need to adopt to be successful in war. Go in with the acceptance that your account is already banned. Once you are comfortable with that then you can bot. If you go in fretting about everything and wondering what is likely to get you banned then you are less likely to bot to full potential.

With that being said, I've only gotten maybe 2 -3 accounts banned out of the 100 or so that I've botted on.

It is my opinion that almost 100% of people getting banned are because of player reports. Sadly, most of these reports come from fellow botters that feel entitled to an area in the game.

According to mods here everything can be fixed by a "post log" and we all wear "foil hats" and bot users think that we shouldn't use bots main features but it's ok

Weird I just got off my Glad warrior account using lazyraider in bg's oh and using lazyraid for the past 4 months straight to level various toons on many accounts...None...None of my accounts are banned and the only aspect of HB I use is lazyraider...It's visually undetectable learn to turn click to move off. Pretty much not worried at all about bans.

I just based my pros/cons by the fact that I followed the ban-reasons throughout the past few months, and that was my personal thoughts based on the threads here. It's nothing that I experienced myself (still haven't got banned) but a mere summary of what I think should be avoided atm :)

I personally use Kick's and AutoAngler atm (while semi-monitoring) as I have no interest in mass-farming and gold selling!

Botting is safe. And getting Banned a luck thing...
      I leveld one char from 1-90. 75 % Kicks Questing 15 % Archaeology 10 % by Hand
      Two Chars from 80-90 80 % Questing 20 % Archaeology.

The one Char Hb leveld from 1-90 was on my Main account. The Bot ran for most likely 24 Hours a day for about 4-5 Days. Didn`t got banned.
My two Bot accounts are farming Herbs/mines. One of them now got over 30 Days played within about 2 Months and is still not banned.
The other one (is newer) ran for about 15 days and also isnt banned yet.
Make yourself an extra Chat window which only shows Whispers. When you let the bot run over night you can check the window on the next day if somebody may whisperd you. If no one whisperd - fine. If someone whisperd who is not in your guild, friendlist etc. Just a random person you dont know you should stop botting for a few days. Then go on.

When did you do that? I have leveled many toons and didn't have any problem until last week. Coincidence or not, that is when the number of bans in the European servers started to rise dramatically. I leveled 10 toons to 85, 6 of them are already 90 as well, on my main account. That account is not banned, but I must admit I have rarely used that account to gatherbuddy in Valley of the Four Winds, for example. Just Kick's profiles, LazyRaider and BG Buddy. And have not botted except for a few LazyRaider runs for a few weeks.

Instead, my three farmers, that used profiles that doesn't stay in any zone for more than 30min, blacklist any node with anyone on sight, etc, all of them have been banned last week.

Oddly, my auctioner that stands in Silvermoon City hasn't been banned...

When Cataclism, Uldum was a ban-fest. I'm starting to think that Valley of the Four Winds is the new Uldum.

Gonna go with total BS on that one, Blizzard has filters (automatic suspension) that act upon any player that is online 24/7 for more than a certian amount of time (usually around 2 weeks). This is a fact. And fyi, it does not matter if you are botting or not. These filters act on your online time, so if you have a brother and you both play 12 hours a day doing some mundane task, that account will get frozen.
