CodeNameG closed the thread but didn't answer the question that I had asked. I don't know anything about this type of thing and that is why I am asking... And don't flame or troll me... Is the PTR that much different from the Real WOW that you can't get a working HB ready ahead of time?
It actually is different, yes, because the PTR isn't the official build of WoW. In other words... Why put all your time and effort into updating something, and when the real thing comes out, honorbuddy doesn't work with it because they changed things... There's more to coding then just changing a couple things, they have to go through pretty much everything and make sure it's not detectable, afkable, etc. Just relax and wait, jesus!
All that was needed was a simple explanation... I have not once complained about the status of HB or when it will be up... I am patient and very grateful for everything that people do to make HB better, unlike alot of people here. But thank you for explaining it to me.
when the real thing comes out they dont actually change anything, thats what the ptr is for. at the very least they could have had 80% of the work done. there are many cases where things are updated ready for final release during beta or ptr. ADDONS for ex. deadly boss mods is out day one with all bosses sorted. many software applications use the next windows beta to get up to date ahead or on time of release.
the prt builds are not live builds, they change things. so to do a prt build we would have to do the work all over again when it comes out for live servers.
there is a difference in the build itself, it might be the same patch data but the client memory addresses will change, that's the part that takes time because each one has to be hunted down manually.
