      Hi guys

Sorry to bother with this, but I've been scammed by a "trusted" seller. I mean, I bought before to this guy without poblems lots of gold, but yesterday, after my payment, he logged off without giving me the money...

I've opened a claim with PayPal but it seems that they won't cover me because their assurance doesn't include virtual goods.

Is there anything I might do to recover my money?

Any previous experience from any of you guys will be more than welcome.

      Thanks a lot!!

Doubt there is much you can do to get your money back from Paypal as far as I'm concerned Paypal is just a global sized scam company.
To be honest best advice is suck up the loss, push your chest out and learn from the experience.

PayPal = Scam, use a different service.

Next time don't say they were virtual goods, just say the seller never confirmed delivering the object your purchased. The seller then must present a tracking number or something that verifies shipping. That's how it should go.

I'm unsure of the issue, as this is a scam that typically occurs on your end. Let me give you a scenario.
      • Player goes to gold website and buys a large amount of gold. Gold is, eventually, delivered by the farming team.
      • Player contacts PayPal and places ticket; because PayPal has no means to track intangible (virtual) goods, the money is returned to the Player.

Presto. I'd call PayPal if it means that much to you; least, to echo an existing reply, learn from the experience.

So let me get this straight... Paypal usually won't take sellers side if he sold virtual goods and the buyer charges back the money, because the seller can't proove that he delivered these virtual goods. And in this case Paypal won't take the buyers side, because he can't proove that he didn't get the virtual goods? I'm leaning against teaming up with Teveel on this. I guess PP gives a rats ass, as long as they gets their transaction fees. What a circus.

Btw, can we get some info on who the seller was, also have you confirmed it wasn't an imposter or something, cause it sounds pretty fishy. Not that you're making it up or anything, it would just be nice to know which reputable seller suddenly decides to scam a returning customer. Or any customer.

      Hi

I am based in Spain and the seller is spanish. His name is *********** and his pp user is ********@hotmail.com. I found him on a spanish forum and made a transaction before with him with no problems.

I'm not sure if he is in ownedcore as well. If he is, the PP username should be enough to locate him.

Regarding what happened with PP, I have two problems:

I had funds in PayPal, so I can not ask my bank to refund. Would definetely have been my best choice.
PayPal told me at the telephone yesterday that they won't do nothing If I forward them the claim, as this is "virtual goods" and is not covered by the insurance.

So I went to the local police in Spain and denounced him. I sent a copy to the seller, and I am hoping he gets sacared and return the money. I already did this once three years ago and it worked.

Anyway, PayPal sucks. Reading the replies of this guy to the claim you clearly see that he is a cheater, he is saying things like "what you are doing is against the EULA", "no one will trust you" or "if you denounce me to the police the one that will end badly is you", etc., etc., and they will do nothing, anyway.

So guys, any safer method to send money through the internet rather than PayPal?

Thanks a lot for your help and interest!!!

I use moneybooker, but also for UK private buyers I get them to do bank transfers or paybycash vouchers.
Not sure what rep this guy has on the spanish forum but you wanna look into seeing about smashing his rep off it.
To be honest dude this is classic behaviour from a scammer, they will buy small transactions to build trust then rip you off on a big one.
You can try and pursue this dude if it makes you feel better but personally I just wrote it off when it happened to me as there is bugger all legal recourse available in my country.

Would monebrokers have protected my in this case?

I mean, would I have been able to claim them the sum sent to this guy?

Worth taking a look in case it is :)

      Thanks!!
