Since the java chat applet has an insane memory leak (it ate up 11GB of memory at one point), I decided to take it upon myself to setup a small IRC channel on EFnet. If you don't already have an IRC client; you'll need one. I highly suggest mIRC if your main OS is Windows. Server: irc.honorbuddy.com Channel: #honorbuddy or #hbdev Note: I am operating both channels as of right now, and yes, I'm a very strict IRC op. If you flood the channel, spam it, or otherwise annoy me, I'll kick you. Repeat offenders will be banned. Remember: this is NOT an official chat channel. It is simply a way to chat, without eating up memory like crazy. (Plus, it's more persistent than the current chat option) Enjoy your stay folks!
The "idiotic shit" can stay in the #honorbuddy-support channel. That channel will be protected from people flaming, etc. If you don't want to help other people, don't join the channel.
Just to be clear because I enjoy clarity: The "Chat Room" / java chat applet link at the top of the forums does not connect to either of these channels?
If your company or country has IRC blocked just get a shell account which you can SSH into and then just use one of the provided irc terminal programs. I recommend IRSSI.
Yeah what do you mean blocked? If you'll show up I'll help you bypass it lol. You can either have a BNC or a shell. Either way will bypass it and I got ya on both lol.
Dont be such a numpty, the leak is on the server ie it chews up the server ram/cycles etc. Move to IRC and be good to the community.
If you don't know how to IRC or your ISP/Work have you blocked. I've setup a portal. http://www.liquidskies.net/chat/ --- Just enter your nickname. Preferably your username from here then hit connect.
w00t the IRC Server is receiving over 3 million packets per second. Filtering SynFlood now. Should be back up momentarily.
So you post one line to say this? If you don't want to use it, don't. Theres no reason to waste a post on saying I'm not. Just move along and go away.
It's a sweet place to hang out, last 24h I think we've discussed prostitution, hemp laws, sugerdaddies and all those other bot-related topics.
