Been experiencing this problem for over two weeks now. Started after a factory reset of my laptop which had been running HB without problem for a few years now. I'm on a Windows Vista machine.

I've done numerous clean installs, including the current beta version. No plugins installed. The error occurs instantly, and HB crashes. As instructed in the Problems with a new install of a Buddy product? thread, I ran the Wizard and it said Net 4.0 was installed and it downloaded Visual C++ 2010 x86.

The error log is attached. Any help would be appreciated.

      CodenameG, thanks for the response!

I have numerous clean HB installs on my desktop, so that wasn't it. However, I did re-install .NET 4 (ran the installer to 'repair' it) and installed C++ 2010 as you directed. That did the trick!

I want to note that I had run the wizard linked to in the HB Problems with new install thread, and it downloaded and confirmed I had both .NET and C++ installed. I ran it multiple times over the last few weeks without successfully fixing the problem.

It appears that the manual download links you gave me above was the way it worked for me, for whatever reason.

      Thanks again!

thats why i link the official installers over the wizard. i just dont trust it most of the time.
