Hey All, So with the release of 5.4 I took the down time of HonorBuddy to rebuild my bot computer. I just went to download WoW on it and log in and got the pop up saying "Do to suspicious activity, this account has been locked". I checked the bot email and had the following message from last Thursday from Blizzard: Greetings, Due to an unusual change in your access pattern, the Battle.net account xxxxxxxxxx@xxxx.com has been locked. This can be caused by logging in from a new location, but it may also signal an attempt to compromise your account. Blah blah blah. Now all I had to do to unlock it was answer my security question and change my password. I checked the account and didn't see anything missing on any toons so I don't think I was hacked. I use Teamviewer when i'm at work but technically i'm logging in from the same place I usually do because it is just a remote to where the computer is. Is this something I should be worried about or can I carry on boting on the account? Also, I was going to download and try Hidemyass to block my IP address just incase the bot account gets busted it can't be linked to my main account. Is this a good idea or not? Will I be getting this same problem? Thanks a ton in advance!
You can just ignore that. It's just a security precaution. You might find you get the "banned for selling gold" email soon if using a vee-pee-n, but just raise a ticket and explain you get terrible lag unless you use it which is why you've been using it, and that you don't sell gold etc.
hey buddy just my exp with that is me being in nz if some 1 from over seas tries to log in it auto locks so it may have been some 1 from another country trying to log in and bliz locked ur acc i wouldn't b too worried but change ur PW frequently i imagine that is what happend hope this helps
Don't worry about it. Most of the time, it is just a warning. As you said that most of the time you're accessing your account from the same location and then suddenly your pattern changed. that may have triggered something. It is possible to detect remote desktop and *** connection. So i don't think using hidemyass would help.
