Greetings fellow botters, So I recently logged back on to an account that has been primarily botted (not my main). I log into a character in the Jade Forest, and some random player starts whispering me. He tells me that he reported me for botting, and he talked to a GM and got me banned (which is true, I recently had a 72 hour ban). Now there are several things I can do to get him off my back for the short term: 1) Pay to change the name of the character 2) Level a new character (different class) 3) Once either of #1 or #2 are done, try harder to change botting times/habits However, I feel in the end he or she is just going to find my toons again, report them again and I am back where I started. I got a "vigilante" vibe from their whispers, like they are out to find/report all the bots. Have any of you encountered this? Any ideas on how to handle it?
get badboy all badboy addons put it on lvl 90 and u wil never recieve a message thats what im using for my questbots i dont care about people ingame i just do my thing and i never responce to anyone and they cant whisper me neither because of badboy make sure u dont bot 24/7 do like 10 hours a day then u wil be fine logout sometimes 20 minutes or 10minutes
if he put your character to his friendlist to watch you, name change will change also name of your character in his friendlist.
According to his whisper, he reported me, a GM saw my bot running, and then banned me. Blocking his whispers wouldn't stop that.
so what i stil dont talk to no one questbotting is pretty safe gathering is abit riskier how i do it im fine like 3 4 months now and i dont interact with people ingame only when i join a new raid guild to raid with hb and i never name change
It seems nothing you do will show you as offline unfortunately Not even /ignoring. Would be really annoying if someone was stalking you... Blizz really needs to add that option.
I doubt the gm's will listen to him anymore that they will listen to you. But since he have noticed you are boting, more people have seen you and reported you leading to the ban. I would have him on ignore putting up a ticket about him harassing you. Then make a new toon, and dont have a obvious botting patern, get a plugin to receive chat messages to where ever you are and answer them, in some fun personal way. A lot of players including myself when you see someone acting like a bot i /w bot? if no response i know its a retarded botter and it deserves to get reported. If i get whispered with the same message i would respond something like No, but i hate those bots stealing all my nods/mobs/ or whatever im doing.
u should watch carefully what ur saying people that report other people and saying it here on the forum wil banned i never reported anyone but im getting away with it ingame also i never responce all i do is questbot to make gold and 10hours a day and i play raids arena rbg on my main account with all classes and with hb also im doing this for 4 months or so on a few accounts and never been banned yet i know how to deal with those reporters ingames since i bot for a long time because the devs here and staffs and admins like me dont like it to report other bot users while ur doing it self some people already got banned here on tghe forums for saying i report botters etc.
if they have you in their favorites list when you change your name it will change it their list as well. I am pretty sure of this, once they figure out the new name it will b game on again. Move to diff server, then come back with diff name, when you come back have a new b with that old name that way when u come back u will have to change name thus free.
i never done this change names and give blizzard extra money i just dont interact with them they can make weird emotion ingame to me when im questing on my accounts but i dont care about that i just emotion back to them since they cant whisper me they need to be over lvl 90
Wow. This is what is called backstabbing and its one of the biggest a-hole move. This is like copying off someone exam and then when they look at your exam you report them for cheating. There no place for backstabbers on this forum. I often see botters and when they are not working right i usually whisper them saying i think you should look at your settings and change something because you look like your having trouble but i never report because the same thing could of happened to me serveral times. You do things in spite of people and you wont go far in life if this is the way you act towards fellow botters. Its pretty funny getting a whisper back from a botter like why? They act oblivious to me helping them out but i do it so next time they will not look so obvious. Also you know that by having less people in a zone wont increase your nodes per hour because its based off how many people are in your zone. Wow this is quite long i should learn to write paragrapgs.
Don't know if you refer this to me, I have reported people that with intent destroys the game, they dont care what their bots do, they just farm the hell out of everything have more accounts then some servers have players. I dont care if you do anything that is against the rules unless it affects me in a bad way, and if it does well, Ill report you.
While I certainly don't condone his actions, there is some merit in what he is saying. There would be significantly less heat on us botters if people would make sure their toons aren't running into walls/trying to pick up broken quest items/running in circles. It also doesn't help take heat off us when people puke out ghost iron ore on the auction house. Tl;dr: Monitor your bot, else you deserve to get banned.
Well my bots run 12h a day, and I cannot monitor them constantly. Yes, I have all my bots running on another screen while I am sitting in front of my computer, but there are often problems with quests where there is mesh problems or it does not behave as intended. To allude to that those who cannot figure out how to bot deserve to be banned is ridiculous. You should be banned from here, just by saying that. In addition, what is up with "There would be significantly less heat on us botters if people would make sure their toons aren't running into walls/trying to pick up broken quest items/running in circles "? - Uh, no! They are after us because we exploit the game in such a way that "normal" players who do not use bot?s does not have the same opportunities.
They can still report you, people that whisper mostly wants to scare you off from boting, people who just quietly follows you will more likely report you without tiping you off with a whisper so you could log off before a GM gets the report. Also the other day i noticed several people waiting in pandaria next to the portal in, once a bot got to pandaria, mounted and flied away someone followed it. i guess this is bot hunters, i noticed this when i myself tested a new profile that should enter the portal, luckely i was watching the bot, i stoped it and fly manually and one followed me for a while, then i stoped and turned back on him and he returned to the portal, they where atleast 5.
i know that but i monitor my quest bots while im raiding on my main account or arena and i do this for 5 months now and stil fine i have my tatics they can report me what they want but im always on the pc when i bot my 10hours sessions
