So could this Auth issue be the cause of my WoW and GB crashing last night?

Oh, I can't loggin either, I appreciate your hard work.

Is this gonna bloody take long? If you have alternative auth servers up just publish IPs people can put them in hosts, or just publish an updated version.

This is a bit lame as you guys are supposed to provide a service. Do you cussing think online betting, ebay and any other sites dont get DDoS attacks? They spend money to protect themselves.

Instead of venting like the poster above, what if I suggest a means to check out a license for a period of 48 hours. That will help weather these attacks. HB/GB clients can check out a license with the ability to run limited for 48 hours, after which they must resubmit for a license. I only suggest this because I still have GB running thankfully because it was started before the DDOS attack. However, I really should stop it and abide by natural guildines of only botting so many hours a day.

So this suggest would also help greedy botters too :)

Bossland doesn't directly control the servers, it's their host which hasn't spent the money to project their customer's servers.

Yeah I bet your "rage" is really going to speed them up comatose. I somehow imagine eBay's IT department is a bit better funded than this bot's, but hey, you're the bloody genius. I'm just a bit surprised the auth server thing is hard coded into the bot myself. But then again, I don't care that much, and may not even understand what they're updating.

I'd love to take a giant, drippy shit on the chest of every single person who perpetrates DDOS attacks.

Since these attacks are now a weekly event here, why not set up something where you can give lifetime people codes or something to bypass the auth servers. Going thru this practicaly ever week lately is really getting annoying. I know this may take a little extra work on someones part, but i think people that are lifetimes purchasers shouldnt have to keep going thru this bullshit

I however agree that allowing a bypass of the Auth server until they get things fixed would be a great feature.

Wow, 75 people browsing this thread. Guess a lot of us have too much time on our hands when we'd rather be setting our BOTS on their merry way.
It would be a nice idea to have some kind of "Temp License" which the admins could publish at times like these which would bypass the Authentication Server issue. Of course, I appreciate that may not be possible, plus it would surely get the hackers interested to gain access to HB/GB for free.

Good luck getting the servers back online & DDoS free :)

costs at least some money for the equipment, and I doubt they would make a profit by ddosing us... cant think of anyone who would actually want to ddos us.

The problem is, DDoS seems to get cheaper and cheaper each month, as we are constantly under DDoS since we released there was barely a month where they have not tried to kill us.

However our host was able to take care of the situation ... till last Thursday where other customers where affected by the 2gbps attack on us.

Today over 30 racks got down on our host due to an new try of DDoS and the host decided to freeze one of our 3 Core i7 Servers.

A protection for that kind of attack starts from around $17000 a month. We cant offer any non Auth Version, but our team tries to take us back life before the clock reaches 24:00.

Lol poeple thinking its so easy to protect againts ddoss are ignorant, nothing can protect properly at 100% a auth, you can add rule, you can filter how you want, still take server ressource in the end and beliave me if a 250k ghostbot want you down , you will go down, ddoss fight is about how fast you can detect the way you get attacked, and counter it to properly put back up your server, money sure help but itsnt everything, time, effort, money, skill are all the things you need againts ddoss.

You can properly protect you while eating lots of ressource againts an attack, but 2 day after you will get attacked by a new innovatif way. Ddosser are generaly paid quite well.......as long the thing go down, otherwise they arent paid at all......also note that a little error from the say skilled anti ddosser will blacklist most of you, causing much more nightmare overall.

All you can do to help bossland and HB overall, is stop to shit on them when your clueless . sit and relax while some professionnel will find out the way to get their servers back up without create a blacklisting mega wave and without suck out of their pocket 10k a month unless you want them to be forced to call bankrupty someday.

BTW boss mercury might sell or even give you his nice firewall, it destroyed any ddoss for juju few months ago.

Are you saying that even for paying customers the only real way of enjoying the product we payed for is finding the cracked torrent so we are no
longer dependant on this dumb auth server ? "

Kinda rough to force your own customers into piracy to be able to use your products. I for one don't rly care for your auth servers, while some argue that
is a way to protect us from warden changes, I'm 75% convinced it is only there for copy protection services.

LOL yes go get a cracked version, please do. but don't come here looking for any help when you can't get it to work.

You may not care about the auth servers, I don't care for your attitude.... so just get the fuck out of our community.
