I just downloaded a 10meg patch when starting up wow client. Anyone have information of what this update was and if warden is still safe?
Ya I just got it half an hour ago, it's in preparation for Cataclysm. The Blizzard downloader first downloaded that 10mb patch, and is currently downloading a 3.97gb patch entitled "WoW-3.3.x-to-4.0.0-patch-NA-Stage-2"
I would totally do that too... have some 4gb massive patch split across multiple files... and in between one 500mb file and another 500mb file just slip in some 5mb Warden update >:]
"Doesn't Warden only update during a patch? No. Warden can be updated at any time, for any reason. Once you log in game, Warden starts scanning every ~15 seconds. During any one of those 'scans', Warden can be updated with new, different, scans. It's entirely up to Blizzard." ~http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-of-warcraft/general/241075-warden-faq.html Warden can update at any time i dont think they include them in the patches, i think they download it completely serperately from the warcraft launcher as far as im aware (im probly incorrect here)
Pretty much true. However; if they need to add more code in the client to handle stuff, they need to push it in a patch. (Happens very, very, very rarely)
I thing it is. Blizzard is too buisy with getting cataclysm on it's way to apply some warden patches now.
As confirmed: http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=14713203225&sid=1 The background download is SLOOOOOW though, I'm getting 100kb/s. I'm interested to look through the new content though
