its not hard to simply restrict what forums users see based on their level of membership... i'm sure they are looking into it right now actually. Its just like how Glider had it setup.

I dont even think 1-20 profiles should be allowed. At least not theones created by the community.

Sure they can create a couple basic grinding profiles, one for horde and alliance, but they dont need them all. Hopefully this is something that will be corrected in the coming hours.

I can't understand why people get the cracked versions, First of all. They come from an unknown source, Might contain shit that steals their passwords etc keylogger. Secondly, it's only 25€ for a 1 full year of simple jealousy from your friends and brothers. Hehe! Yes, my brother's and room mate are jealous to me about HB. 1-2 days of botting = 38lv Rogue. <3 ALL HAIL TO HB, HAIL HAIL!
And i agree, It doesnt feel right that your able to download the CC's and profiles without a payment. It's somewhat unfair for the makers of those CC's and Profiles, and also it's unfair for us who actually paid for our program.

Tbh I wouldn't have bought my HB sub if these forums weren't here for me to browse prior to buying. Lock the downloads sure but if you lock entire forums then you will turn people away.

All they need to do is login to the admin cp on the forum and create a usergroup called 'paid' or something just like they do with mods and then make it so they have access to everything you would then make it that you have to be manually changed to that user group. It would maybe take a week at an hour a day to get this done with all paid users and then future buyers would post in a thread maybe? or pm a mod? who would put them in the user group. The default registering group would be the basic one and that one cant dload anything because seriously people pirating it is a bit of a joke if they can just come here and get profiles etc.

Oh and maybe make the program so its bound to a hardware ID like i think pirox does.

Yeah they shouldn't lock the forum at all but only downloads, I personnaly browsed this forum before buying HB just to see how the community is active.

But definitly, you should not allow download to everybody. Some of the non officials users will still get CC's but a large part who don't know anything will just have to pay.

It would be fun to trap the bot and try to detect cracked ones and make the toon randomly yell : "I'm currently using a cracked bot! Report me please!"

inb4 'because we're the mods and we choose to do it like that'

Meaning all downloads will still be available to the public?

Guess Im no longer making any profiles. I thought you all would have a problem supporting the cracked version users, I guess not. Apparently doesnt matter what the entire community wants either.

To be honest as great as this sounds in theory, it wont work. it only takes the person cracking the bot to have a paid subscription even if the forums are locked down, to download all the content and rerelease it elsewhere anyway.

the only real way to make it pirate proof, is to have all content stored on a server only accessed by the bot through a paid subscription, as im guessing a cracked version bypasses the hbud auth server and doesnt connect to it at all, you could have
all content streamed to the bot on demand and nothing stored locally on the computer, making it impossible to put someone elses work elsewhere. i guess like a client based honorbuddy store, which could also be used to manage paid plugins / profiles etc...

that sucks its not like it takes a rocket scientist to change permissions especially after the community making their views clear

I know someone who is a subscriber could re-release the profiles/cc elsewhere, but the chances of the trillions of people who have cracked copies finding that exact site are a lot slimmer than them coming here.

In all honesty people who have paid for the bot did so because of HB's reputation. Doesn't matter if you paid for a yearly, monthly or lifetime subscription it was paid for by people who wanted a reputable bot and in turn support HB. So yes people are upset that hacks can come here and d/l the profiles the community has made. It's frustrating to think someone has shelled out money to be legit only to get slapped in the face with some asshat who comes here, not to support the community, but to download the community's work. Profiles created by the paid members have been shared, in a gentlemans handshake sort of way, meaning they felt their work would be used by paying community members, not hacks.

While many of us are just words on a screen a certain amount of loyalty by HB to it's paying customers should be a priority, not support to people using community created profiles. This is what the paid subscriptions are trying to convey.

And if I get banned for posting this so be it.

@woot you could make your profiles request only or something or even what ive mentioned in the dev forum about mirroring it elsewhere with password protection etc.

I don't see what you guys don't step things up here and there the community tries to speak up time after time about issues they encounter.
Everytime threads will be closed or removed for no reason... I mean we want to help to create a better product but as soon as people open there mouths they been put down in some way.

good example, LiquidAtor's topic you've closed right after postign and then a other mod opening the thread again, while the thread was clearly a communit's way of saying Staff step things up.

hope you guys can listen to the people that dislike this idea of open forums.. its just nonsense where others can download all for free.
can really see a good reason why people would pull there stuff of the site.

also have to agree with morga!
