HonorBuddy/DemonBuddy trojan horse

Hello Buddyforum!

This evening my battle.net account was hacked, assumingly through a trojan horse. I scanned my system for vira and found one trojan horse in my HonorBuddy and two trojan horses in my DemonBuddy. My question for you therefore is: do you have any suggestions to where I could've these vira from, could it be plugins, profiles etc. - just anything! I do not know much about how this works which is why I'm asking this question. Is it be possible that I could've infected my Buddies indirectly through some other source or is it not something that can happen? I've only downloaded plugins/profiles from this site.

Weird that you got a Trojan. Something iffy happened. Guess better email blizzard and tell them you got hacked.

 

I already did. They had a very great customer service and returned all of my WoW gold within five minutes. I'm still waiting for a reply for my lost items in Diablo. I'm just curious to find out if there are other ways to get your system infected than I know of. I'm just trying to minimalize the possibilities of a similar incidents occurance

 

Lots of ways to get your account hacked. Bad website, true hackers, ect. Get an ath would help. Just be safe. Now a days you need a condom for the internet and a condom for HB to keep from getting banned.

 

I am positive that it must've been through a virus as I haven't entered any of my information on other sites than battle.net. But yes, I will follow your advice and acquire an authenticator. Thanks for your help!

 

The Mods here have a strict policy on posting potentially hazardous downloads here on the forums. There has been a case where one of the HonorBuddy downloads was infected but the community was swiftly informed and everything sorted through. The HonorBuddy installer can give off false positives in certain security software, but as said they're just false positives. Things you download from this forum should be safe.

 

Everything that is for official download here is safe. Some antiviruses will throw a false positive.

As liferose said, we are strict about what we allow for download on our forums. We cannot control what else you download.
