Is it really worth botting your main?

I only have 1 account on world of warcraft, which I did bot to 90.

Now I need some gold, and was thinking about botting mining for some gold.. The problem is, I heard blizzard perm bans people that bot gold methods?
Is it really worth attempting to make gold and putting your account at risk?

I don't have the money to pay for all expansions on another account, since it will just not be worth it.

Any idea's?

However, it seems to be a "luck of the draw" sort of deal when it comes to account bans with Blizzard. I know people that have used Honorbuddy for three or four days, grinding herbs and mines. The best thing to do is farm on downtime hours (late night) while you're sleeping. This makes it appear as if you're grinding during a reasonable time. Also, don't let the bot post auctions automatically. Blizzard monitors transactions made on the auction house, so this would be a bad idea. Have the bot mail items to an alternate character. When you wake up the next day, stop the bot, switch characters, and post the accumulated paraphernalia in increments.
