Hey all, been spending some time reading these forums, and honor/gatherbuddy seems to be a good and solid bot. I want to give botting a try, but I want to do it in a way that wont risk my main accs, and I need some experienced botters to advice me on how to set up as safe as possible. Im planning to start up a new b-net account and a new wow account using other emailadress and personal info than on my main accounts but can I use this new account on the same computers / ip-adress as my main accounts without risking to get my main accounts banned? I dont mind getting the new acc banned somewhere down the road, but I dont want to risk the accounts I spent so many hours on I also would like to know if you have any good ideas on how to transfer gold or items in a safe way from the bot account to the main accounts. Can that be enough for blizz to ban the main accounts? Thanks in advance!
As for the same computer/ip-adress you should be safe, as they will not IP ban, as it has never been reported to happen, they just look into which accounts have been involved in acts against their TOS, and ban the ones that fit the profile. But if your smart enough, they wont be looking into your accounts at all. With the transferring gold i am unsure/skeptical on what i think is correct, so ill leave what i know
Thanks for the input Lt.Leon! Another thought: Should I do a copy of the wow folder to use only with botting, or is that pointless? And how about using a VPN when botting?
To be honest I personally think a vpn is pointless. Just keep an eye on the bot for whispers use monitoring plugins etc there isnt really a 'safe' way. Ive researched into it plenty it all varies as what one player may think is a bot another may not etc. It really comes down to A) Warden so you should be fine as this bot is undetected as of this moment we all think B) Player reports just use decent profiles and like i said if your whispered reply etc C) Get some decent gear and be normalish then the rest is luck !
Player reports are the least likely thing to happen with HB because it is a decent bot. The main thing that can happen is the account being automatically flagged for certain things like online time, amount of mobs killed in succession and of course the amount of resources gathered in a time period.
You think they flag for online time? ive always wondered this but a fair few people bot 24/7 np so ive often wondered.
Thanks for the reply guys My only concern is not to get my main accounts banned. And judging by the replys my main accs should be safe even if I use the same computer/IP to run the new bot account. Being banned on the bot acc isnt to serious, I can buy a new one if that happens
I changed the gatherbuddy.exe to teamspeak.exe or any other one you want just as an extra precaution againt a warden scan of running programs
Been botting since first few months of BC and haven't had a ban yet. Just do everything in moderation. The longer you bot consecutively the higher chance you have of getting caught because of a few things : Time online - Normal people can't be online 24/7 doing the same stuff using the same rotation the whole time. Profile - When you use the same profile for days in a row, when normal people go to where you are to level and they see your still grinding mobs from several days before they might think "oh hey that guy must be botting because he was here grinding the same mobs 3 days ago" Make sure to keep your guy with your level equivalent gear so your not level 40 in level 15 gear = ). Use monitoring plugins, they help because you can check to see if someone whispered you, so you know whether or not to lay low for a few days = )
