Paid Account So I learnt a Valuable lesion today, This was a 2nd account (account my wife plays) so it did have 3 lvl 90's although they weren't that great. I was into probably my 3rd hour of farming for that day collected around 800-1000 ore and while I was afk having a coffee I got banned, came back to the disconnected splash screen tried to log back in and saw the wonderful message "your License has been Banned". I opened a ticket in hopes that I would get my account back, I made some sotry up about me been on leave so I was farming lots over the last week in prep for the next big patch 5.4..... needless to say the Account administrator team came back to me saying sorry but you were detected botting.... I ovcorse called BS and asked them to prove it. His response was to refer to the following part of the terms and conditions that I signed up for : A. WHEN RUNNING, THE GAME MAY MONITOR YOUR COMPUTER'S RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY (RAM) AND/OR CPU PROCESSES FOR UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAMS RUNNING CONCURRENTLY WITH WORLD OF WARCRAFT. AN ?UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM? AS USED HEREIN SHALL BE DEFINED AS ANY THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE THAT, WHEN USED SIMULTANEOUSLY OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE GAME, WOULD CONSTITUTE A VIOLATION OF SECTIONS 1, 2 OR 7. IN THE EVENT THAT THE GAME DETECTS AN UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM, BLIZZARD MAY (a) COMMUNICATE INFORMATION BACK TO BLIZZARD, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE ACCOUNT NAME, DETAILS ABOUT THE UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM DETECTED, AND THE TIME AND DATE THE UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM WAS DETECTED; AND/OR (b) EXERCISE ANY OR ALL OF ITS RIGHTS UNDER ANY BLIZZARD AGREEMENT, WITH OR WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE TO THE USER. And told me that they had the proof they needed and the perma ban will stay in effect and I wont be getting my account back. So I will not be using honorbuddy again its a wonderful product but if blizzard have the right to access my machine and check whats running at the same time as wow its just to risky . Has anyone that's been here for a long time been banned and get this statement about scanning your pc? Because I thought that was illegal?
When you agree to the ToS, you give blizzard the right to scan the machine where their product is running. It would be illegal if you hadn't agreed to the ToS. They mention only scanning memory that is allocated by blizzard, who knows what they really scan. The illegality of these scans vary from country to country but here in the US, the law is what you can convince a judge. Money talks and blizz has tons of it. anyone trying to bring their illegal scans to the public would be quickly buried in the US court system. Blizzard would end up counter suing and end up taking half of everything you own. Our system is corrupt and they count on you dropping the issue before spending more money trying to get your account back.
while randombuddy is an awesome plugin, we still need to address the rest of the flags. how you store your herbs/ore, how you sell, trade, auctions. guild banks, f2f trades, sending gold to your main for boes.
Ahh simple fact is this guys, no amount of randomizers or how you sell your auctions etc is going to make a difference blizzard has and automated ban system that runs scans through random client machines, if they detect 3rd party software then your screwed. At then end of the day I knew that there was a 50/50 chance I was going to get caught and catch the Ban hammer. That's why you wont hear me complain on here about the fact that I got banned, I posted this purely as a informative post so that every one can be aware that the ToS you agree to allows blizzard to scan CPU threads, RAM use and if needed Hard drive contents (although that's under another part of the ToS where they can provide hard drive contents/info to law agency's. At the end of the day we are all using a high risk method of making in game currency and levelling. If you value your account make a dummy account to bot on and run it on a different computer to your main account, and be very safe on how you send the gold to your main.... pass it through multi accounts before coming onto you. or List items for above normal AH price and buy them out using your bank toon ( just don't list grey/white items ). And don't get greedy Bot2Win
While I agree with your point to 100% I'm still doubting about the RAM-memory scanning automation, like if we say that 5 million computers (just for the sake, idk about real numbers) running at the same time, do you mean that the automation will scan through all of these 5 million computers for checking if the player is using something that blizzard doesn't like (I may very well have wrong, then please correct me) that sounds little "hmm..." to me My conclusion is that, they wont scan your computer UNLESS if you give them a very good reason tho. Such as flying the same pattern farming after nodes hour after hour, day after day etc. But...at the end, that's just my opinion which could be very wrong
ummm no you cant have my honorbuddy key, you could support they guys who work on this app and buy your own though. I wouldn't imagine that they would constantly scan 5 million machines, but id imagine some where in the code of the client that is running on your pc is something that will flag weird processes running on your cpu/ram at the same time as wow then send that info to a program at their end. From what the GM told me I was banned by their antihack program which automatically banned my account after they looked into my case they decided that the program acted on valid information provided. So they wont be giving me access to the account. TBH this isn't 100% fact as there is no way to know what blizzard do with your PC/information or how they obtain it all that's written into their ToS is that they can and will use the rights to scan your machine if needed. At the end of the day you can never cheat the system for ever but you might as well make a dam good attempt at it haha. Maybe they devs need to look into ways of changing how honorbuddy declares its self on the processor list etc, maybe make the name a more common windows processor name and hide it a lot better so that they have less of a chance of tracking you that way. Who knows either way keep on botting guys, I decided to make a dummy account, let buddy bot lvl me and get back to farming well away from my main account haha.
