Hey guys, well they got me. My first banned account. My question is what are the chances of getting caught simply using Lazy raider? Thanks.
How did they get you. What were your botting habits etc? I use lazyraider, Tyrael and LFR, manually quest etc and feel fairly safe however we as a community are never immune to bans. I just think Gathering and questing afk is quite risky unless anyone proves me wrong.
i never botted overnight, i think they caught me on gathering (although it wasnt much), my question is if the bot is undetectable they couldnt possibly know simply using lazyraider right?
To answer your question, no. Simply running the buddy software will not get you detected or noticed unless you do things wrong. This is all thanks to the amazing anti-warden software the buddy team has in place and the reason we experience longer patch downtimes than most bots. This is a good thing. Learn it, love it, profit from it. However, that being said, you can get caught using lazy raider just like any other botbase in the buddy software. If enough people see you doing something that doesn't appear human enough then they may report you and you may get banned. Generally speaking if you are even a halfway decent player then you shouldnt be running around doing anything out of the ordinary anyways. Most bans come from player reports. This means that the most likely botbases to get reported will likely be ones that follow a set path or are left afk for long periods of time making it easy for other players to notice you are not an actual player. These include GatherBuddy, Questing, and Grindbot. There are however other methods of detection that blizzard uses such as auction house posting, trades, and gathering, although the exact way in which they use these is purely speculative.
Just make sure to setup lazy raider so it doesnt do anything spastic. If you run it manually just for rotation (No tank following or auto targetting) then I would say you will not get detected by blizzard and no one will notice anything enough to report you. I ran with a very high raiding guild using Lazy raider to just to the rotation and was never caught or spotted by any other guildies.
Most people don't even know that something like rotation bots exist (for one i didn't before i informed myself about gather bots), only some informed people will be able to spot you and in some cases they also use a rotation bot themselves, it takes a botter to spot a botter in this case or you abuse something like a instant Interrupt/CC cleanse in pvp/arena, be smart and don't do something that is humanly impossible. From what i read so far in the ban section there is really no one that got banned by simply using HB as a rotation bot.
Of all my banns none have stuck and they were from being a horde gathering on a 75% alliance population server gathering mats. What they do is they use friends/guild members to mass report you if your *on their turf* botting or not, and I know this for a fact since I get whispers from some of the guild members changing to horde toons asking if im a bot and what they are told to do. Questing I never got a bann from but you always should have the auto logout option on if you get stuck somewhere.
isn't true ;D but it's basically either as you mentioned.. the instant CC's and whatnot, or the stucks.. or the movement... that will tell you off 180 degree turning while running looks strange, or running in straight lines.. even a dude or dudette that's never botted b4 can see that
LOL.. yeah reminds me of a pvp match where my mage was above and behind a pally fighting a hunter. I started casting a spell and the pally instantly turned and silenced me with no possible way of knowing I could be their. I learned a long time ago not to play the bot like a bot.
