im thinking about start botting for real i have been thinking about useing a dell c6100 rack server for it each node will have 2 xeon six core 2.4ghz 96gb ddr3 ecc ram and some good sas 15k or ssd how much can i run on this equipment or will it even work?

I think it's more about how knowledgeable about what / how to bot, then how many bots you can run. I am pulling 10k gold a day with 3 bots. While experienced people are pulling 10k+ a day per bot. On the other hand I am running with WotLK(battlechest) accounts, but for sure experienced botted can do it with these accounts as well. If you managed to make some cash with X amount of bots per month, calculate yourself how much you would've been making with Y amount, spread over several realms. Sadly, I came here too late. Lost years of time when people's been making nice cash out of it. Anyway, will try to get some piece of what is left.
this blade enclosure supports PCIE GPU (1 PCIE slot per blade/2 CPUs) so he could use it and insert some cheap GPU i guess
Dont waste you're money or your time on this type of thing. I tried it a while back and found out I was only making a extra few bucks a day lets say $10 a day or so. If you want to make money while AFK from your PC go get 2 ati cards 7970's and farm bitcoin's they have dropped in price now but still better then gold.
10 bucks a day? bro bro bro, lets say if you are really putting money and effort into setting up a botfarm of lets say 10 bots, you can run instances with them, selling greens and stuff, so you get about 10k gold a day if u run them 12 hours ish, thats 100k gold a day atm u can sell ur gold for about 0.5-0.8, at lowest commision and thats selling to chinese u get 50 dollars a day, and remember ur not even inside AH so less chance for a ban and less chance for reports when u run instances, 10 days is 500 bucks, u should be able with a successfull botfarm to make about 1500 a month Even if ur accounts get banned, you can easily buy new ones with the profit you just made, if you put away the amount of money you wish to spend on botting, consider it a longterm investment, start with two bots, making 20k gold a day, 10 dollars, and in a week ull be able too buy one new bot, and one new expansion,, making it 15 dollars a day, and then rapid expand, replace banned accounts, invest in *** and all that stuff, and keep going, you will eventually go out with a massive profit, and when you are tired of it, well Hell, sell it all, and get a massive amount for someone to take over ur botfarm with ur profiles and gear and everything required to make 5bucks a day per account, it's a longterm investment, that require alot of attention and alot of money, but if you are out of work and need some extra cash, this is a great way to start
I've had a pleasant experience using servers for mass farming, to the point where the servers have actually paid themselves off.

last time i botted with 2 accounts at farming 12 hours per day and 1 bank account i made around 15k to 20k per day but i think it?s not worth it any more
If money isn't an object to you go for it. Having a rack server is always nice as there are many alternative uses. Imaging, Backups, Media/file server... etc. You could also setup dedicated ftp, ***, os's, vps, etc.. etc.. so your options as an income could excel further than just "botting" WOW. You definitely will not become a millionaire (in-game currency, sure you can) botting wow these days. As for gaming performance... xeon processors will barely cut it, you may get away with minimal settings on each client.
I repeat nothing stops him to add some ATI/NVIDIA GPU to his server 2 XEONs and 1 $200 GPU should be very balanced (7970 is around $200 on amazon currently but i think even that is overkill if you run bots on minimal settings)
