From what I've tried so far, I'd have to say lock, simply because the CC is so good at taking advantage of every talent. Therefore it starts off kind of normal, but then as you progress up your talent tree it has a snowball effect, and now I'm a lvl 71 killing machine with my demo lock, basically zero downtime. *edit* Can't speak for DK as I hand leveled mine before I discovered honorbuddy, might be better.
Banned4haxx do you need a lot of mana and hp food as demo lock? my lock is 49 affliction atm and i never need food or drinks coz i set up lifetap and drainlife perfectly but i wanna try demo, what spec and cc do you use?
Paladin all the way. Keep in mind that warlock needs to make quests for all his pets which slows the leveling down
Other than having to stop at level 10 to do the Voidwalker quest (I don't do the other two pet quests till level max as they are not needed for leveling) I feel locks are pure easysauce to level. I go with a Affliction/Demo mix to 50 then switch to pure Demo to get the Felguard cause he's a bad ass. From then on it's even easier than 1-50. Other reasons they bot fast and easy: -Little to no down time as far as eating and drinking due to Life Tap and Drain Life spells when set up properly -Pets handle adds well -Healthstones come in great for the rare emergency situation where you need to fill some HP up fast. Plus they are free -Soulstones save time on corpse runs (when the bot or CC uses them properly) -Fewer repair trips as pets take most of the damage (less repairing = more gold) -Class mount looks pimp -Pets don't need food -Not gear dependent at all. No need to upgrade gear every few levels. Can go 20+ levels easy without a need to upgrade. Pallys and Hunters bot just as easy, but require more maintenance in my opinion between repairs, pet food, and the need for gear upgrades more often than Locks.
Some questions for someone who is noob at lock. I see levelling builds all over the web. Could you link a pre 50 build for me? All the levelling builds I see use full affliction maxing lifetap coruption and drain soul/life. Also don't you lose the lifetap health drain stuff once you go full demonology post level 50?
Probanbly this is your best bet: http://www.wowhead.com/talent#IZ0GchkAdi0sxz:oM Then move up to this: http://www.wowhead.com/talent#IfxMbz0hZ0GchkAdi0sxkAo:oN My lock just hit 50, and as much as I loved UA, im also gonna dualspec to demo now to see if it pwns more.
Just started grinding again with that first demo spec i linked at 50, man it's better than affliction imo. Pet tanks everything which means almost no durability loss for me and thus less repair runs so more xp/hour. Drain life and lifetap are less optimal but the increased amount of stamina, spellpower and the fact that you're not tanking damage makes up for that. Set skiwarlock to drain life mobs when their health is between 101% and 0% and to lifetap when your mana goes under 80% in combat and 85% out of combat, works miracles for me.
Here's the talent tree I use pre 50 = http://www.wowhead.com/talent#IfhrbdrhoVZbGc0o Basically I put my talent points in those spots to do the following for smoother botting: -Gain some Stamina (helps survivability during bad pulls and more HP is always a good thing) -Make my pet stronger and more effective (being able to take more damage, kill faster, and hold aggro better = faster and safer grinding) -Gain more mana from spells (Less drinking = more time killing = more XP per hour = faster leveling or farming) -Gain more life from spells (Less eating = more time killing = more XP per hour = faster leveling or farming) -Reduce my threat so pet can hold aggro (if my Lock is not taking damage he'll need to repair less = more time killing = more XP per hour = faster leveling or farming) As far as "losing the lifetap health drain stuff once you go full demo at 50........yes you lose the better returns on those spells, but you still have the spells themselves to use. Even at base (not changed through Talent) they are very effective spells. After I spec demo at 50 I just usually start grabbing those Affliction talents on my way to 80 anyhow, so once at 80 I got a great farming pet, and the increased Affliction spells. That combination makes for a really smooth and fast farm bot. One thing to keep in mind is that these talents alone are not going to make your lock a better bot without a good warlock CC, proper CC configuration, and a well written profile. I use the skiWarlock CC and think it's great for what I want my bot to do.
Im curious too. My lock just hit 60, 100k exp/hour atm with grinding, goes like a beast with demo spec. Never ever need hp or mana food, about 3-4 deaths every 12 hours.
Warlock and paladin work quite good for me. Warlock more so though I believe there is a small glitch on ranged targets with your pet that it goes toward's it then comes back again until it pulls agro somehow.
for me id say paladin purely for plate armor + heals + lay on hands + theyre just OP anyway if you have a decently geared pally and your prepared to gear him as he levels he will cut through mobs like butter.
