I was one of the people who got the banhammer last weekend. Turned out to be a 72hr in the end. I got my main account and my secondary and third banned, when hb had only been used on the 2nd. I have never used it on my main. I deleted all Honorbuddy stuff from my computer because I heard rumors about them looking into your computer. I got out of the ban, and then ran my game in 64-bit mode since (HB doesn't work with 64). I got perma-banned last night. Exactly 72hrs since I was unbanned. and as usual.. 15minutes after the telephone lines are closed for the day. I had read posts on and off honorbuddy about the new wow.exe coming up as a virus with some programs and being deleted. I REMEMBERED THIS FACT. Along with the 64-bit fact. I nicely placed a ticket, since I knew this time I did nothing wrong. I mentioned in it about my wow.exe being deleted with my Norton and bit defender. It took 11hrs for them to get back to me with a big "Screw you." I then called twice and got my name known. I then resorted to another ticket. As I was filling the ticket out, I noticed Live-help. I grabbed at the chance. After pleading my case through live help, (as a locked account not a banned one) I was fortunate enough to get a one last reprieve. I was told this was a one time only, and never to bother even putting a ticket in if I get banned again. I had the favor of my GM at the time which helped. He told me he went through more than one supervisor and then they totally reviewed my "Since Vanilla" account. I showed my appreciation and then asked about my wow.exe file. I was told that they know nothing about it and I should check out the forums and my connection was terminated. lol! I don't know if this helps anyone, but it was what worked for me. I have no reason to use HB for the time being, nor will I probably use it again in the future without a second computer and an un-affiliated account. What bothered me the most was that my main account has NEVER been botted on, and when they banned it this time, my 2nd and 3rd were left alone. As well the other 6 in my household including the person who was botting on my 2nd account last week. Make your own decisions, but something is fishy in Blizzland.
I've had "perma bans" dropped 3 times, I also never immediately appeal and wait a few months to do it, then just lie a lot.
