I bot for like 2 hours at a time. I'm paranoid as hell. I'm like, in love with my WoW account, but I HATE being so damn poor. Honestly, I kind of want a new account though, I got 4 lvl 80's all hand lvled.
So I want to know, how much do YOU bot per day, have you ever been banned? If so how long had you been botting.
Does Blizzard go around looking for people botting or do they rely on people to report others for botting?
      :):):):):):):):):):)

My greatest fear is a banwave. No matter how safe you bot, you can't avoid that.

A banwave is when the bot gets detected and everyone using it gets a delayed ban so they ban everybody at once. Happens rarely but when it does it sucks.

And I would say for leveling botting over 2 days strait is were you would draw the line. And gathering for over 16 hours is were to draw the line.

Also try having uptodate gear and being in a guild that that is yours or someone you knows guild who wont report you.

the amount that gets you caught. seriously from your level of concern, you don't need to be botting. when you get caught you'll be crying and moaning about how unfair it is and how everyone else is doing it but only you get punished. and there will be no sympathy. from anyone. you've obviously put no effort into learning anything about botting, how it's done, what the consequences are... all you know is that you get free loots for pressing the button!

Like abrie2010 I have also avoided several banwaves. Actually one of them was quite lucky. Back in december I switched from WoWGremlin to eBot 3 days before the leack in WoWGremlin was discovered. I had a lot of friends who got hammered.

I have also been there since the old glider days, on and off. I usually turn off my computer during the nights, but that is mostly because of the noise (it's in my bedroom). Sometimes it let it run over the night.

But there was at some point where I botted 24/7 for several months without as much as a single warning. I also bot my main account, but I've figured that these accounts aren't really anything worth anymore, so if I get hammered i'll take that as a sign to stop playing wow :)

....there is no how much is too much..there is only

      1. Do botting and risk your account
      2. Don't bot and don't risk your account

BUT there are a lot of things you can do...(like stated a billion times in this forum) to avoid getting the attention of other players.

Just a short list ( i'm pretty sure this is the 1.000.000.001 list XD)

      - Don't bot if you don't want to lose the account! It doesn't matter how safe hb/gb is..if your life depends on this account...well don't bot =)
      - Don't bot always at the same spot
      - Don't bot on a schedule, do it random with random longer/shorter breaks between
      - Don't just bot with this account and the char you are botting with, do some daily quests/heroics
      - Don't use auto reply plugins...well i don't wanna piss any devs off but...for sure this plugins can break your neck.
      - If you have the possibility to remote control your bot, do it (Status Center, IRC, whatever...)

I am botting with 3 accounts and my gatherbuddy bots are running 24/7 and i never got any gm whisper or player report within the whole year now!(Just following the "rules" written above) Years ago i started with glider but more for leveling then pure farming. Then i switched to OpenBot(Innerspace, ISX).

Most of the people think yes....and they are too scared and think that Blizzard has employs that only monitor people..for how long they are online and stuff like that..but indeed there aren't even enough employs to work on all the tickets that are being created each day...i wrote something about that here

If you bot smart you will not get reported and if there is a software detection, then it doesn't matter if you used the bot for 10 minutes, 2 hours, 8 hours or the whole day!

Blizzard dont have time to look for people who bot, they have to keep track of all the wow gold :D It takes alot of gnomes to count it all.

When you've received a ban you crossed the limit of safe botting.

I think it's just a matter of bad luck if you get banned or not.
