  • A Task's Execption error on launch (.709)

      Hey all,

      I've been getting this error on launch for the last 3 releases and even still since doing a clean install for .709. Note worthy is this error only happens about 60% of the time I try to launch HB, so I have just been reopening HB and waiting for the server login delay until it works.

      Here is what the error says in full as the log doesn't have any errors in it as far as I can tell.

      "A Task's exception(s) were not observed either by Waiting on the Task or accessing its Exception property. As a result the unobserved exception was rethrown by the finalizer thread"

      I am using Windows XP and stuck at .net 4.0. but I believe 4.5 isn't necessary?

      Oh I knew that log was from .708, didn't think it would matter as I knew that log was when the error had happened. Attaching a log that occurred 5 minutes ago when the same error happened.

      if you would, from your launcher, run the repair tool just to make sure your wow install is fine. also clear your caches.

      also if your running any wow addons disable them.

      Sorry about the slow response, but with all the recent updates I wanted to make sure that many recent updates have not fixed my issue.
      I've disabled all addons and cleared the 3 caches folders including the b.net one but I am still getting the error/crash on launch. It's random as to when it happens, sometimes I can open HB 10 times in a night and not have any problems but other times it will give me the error after error after error on launch.

      Hopefully there are some other things we can try. I'm able to upload a screenshot of the error if that helps at all.

      i need a log of you using the latest version, since the version you had last is pretty old.
